MVP Line or Pairing? For St Louis? That is tough, as I believe St Louis had 2 really good defensive pairs this season. Lambert and Weiser were the top pair and played really good hockey all season long. Especially Lambert, who had 38 points and a defensive game rating of 77. Weiser on the other hand, was his polar opposite. He only notched 25 points but racked up an impressive 176 hits. It's almost like putting an offensively minded defender with a defensibly minded defender works... but I want to point out the second pairing in St Louis. The pairing featured veteran two-way defender Jimmy Dekens as well as rookie Jean-Locke Zidane. Dekens wasn't very impressive with the puck this season, 16 points and a DGR of 65. The negative 26 plus minus isn't nice either, but it happens when you're on a team that struggled the first half of the season. His rookie partner Zidane, managed to notch 29 points with 178 hits. Zidane, while playing a very physical defensive game, was able to have enough sense to rack up assists all season long. One of the most impressive aspects is his 73 DGR. If I had to pick the better pair, it would be the Lambert - Weiser pair, but believe Zidane will be able to step up and be a huge asset on the top pair.
