Game one: Quebec vs the Colorado Raptors.
Quebec scored early, followed by another goal around 7:30 remaining in the first. Raptors survive a disastrous first period and score with just over a minute remaining, squeaking into the second period with just one goal's difference despite being massively outshot in the first.
Quebec regained their two-score lead a minute into the second period. 3-1 going into the third despite some good chances for the Raptors.
The third remained uneventful through the end, final score 3-1. Shots 47-19 in favor of QCC. Nystrom finished a null on plus/minus with one shot on goal registered and two hits delivered. "Null on plus-minus" wasn't the upside he was banking on, and he'll surely be remembering that next game.

Second game was KEL vs MET. Far lower shots in this game, MET scoring twice late in the first despite being outshot 7-6.
MET started running away with it in the early second with a third goal, and added a fourth later in the period. 4-0 Maine after two.
KEL finally struck back in the early third, tallying two to come within two. Outshooting the home team 31-16 at 12 minutes remaining, their chances for a comeback looked better than nothing. They came within one with six minutes to play, then finally found their equalizer just before 2 minutes remaining. 4-4 at the end of regulation.
Overtime was inconclusive and the game remained 4-4, to be settled in a shootout. Only there did KEL finally complete a roaring comeback, going from down 4-0 to a 5-4 heartattack victory.

Anaheim vs Detroit came next. Detriot up 1-0 after 1, then 2-0 after 2. Outshooting the visitors handily all the way, the hapless Outlaws did not look to have their luck change tonight at the end of the second period. The third verse was much the same as the first, but louder and with the entire Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing the same refrain. Final score was a 6-0 rout.
Of interest, this game featured a fight between Kermit Murphy and Arturs Tumovs, albeit an unspectacular one in which no blows landed.

Nevada vs St Louis followed. The Scarecrows scored twice in the first, despite a relatively small shot 12-10 differential in their favor. One more goal followed in the second, but the Scarecrows doubled their opponents in shots 22-11 by the end of Nevada's nightmare period.
The Battleborn finally struck back in the early third, scoring twice to come within one, then again to tie the game. Shots were even at 25, then Nevada surpassed St Louis in shots. While they couldn't complete the kill in regulation, nor overtime, the tension in St Louis' stadium was thick enough to, one might say, choke on.
The choke completed in the shootout, with Nevada taking an ugly win 4-3 and the Scarecrows considering a players-only meeting after such a spectacular third-period collapse.

Hartford at Carolina was next on the docket. Harfort's goal in the first was this game's only until Carolina equalized in the early third. For the third time tonight, a contest went to shootout, the final winner being the Kraken, 2-1.

Carolina then played host to Newfoundland. Much like in their previous match, they gave up a goal in the first. Rather unlike their previous match, they were down 5-1 by the end of the second stanza. Final score was 6-2 Berserkers.

Anchorage vs Quebec followed. Scoreless after one, Quebec finally broke the game open in the early second. Anchorage tied it after two, and it once again took a shootout to decide the game. QCC took it at last.

St Louis then took their chance at redemption against none other than the just-victorious Armada. While they didn't choke a four goal lead in this game, they also failed to score even one until the late third period. 2-1 Anchorage final.

Newfoundland vs Nevada next. 1-0 for the home team after one, and 2-0 after two. The Newfies threatened with a goal in the third, but an empty netter sealed a 3-1 victory for Nevada.

Finally, the Colorado Raptors played their second of the night. The Raptors scored first, but the Knights struck back twice to go up 2-1 by the end of the second. Unfortunately the Raptors couldn't quite get it done in the third, as the Knights struck a dagger near the end of the game.
Nystrom did not do well for himself in this game, finishing a -1 with three hits, no shots, and a holding penalty to his name.
Despite this, his post-game interview remained optimsitic. "I feel it coming." He said, "I'm starting to find my place in this team. Obviously I wish it was coming faster, but it'll come."

Dang, you killed that Task 8! Good stuff, that's 6 mil for 6 completed tasks! Make sure to make a new post with any new claims! @"TapdancingNecrons" -ACC p.s. Praise the Silent King!
