This season wasn’t quite what I’d call a breakout season for Ethan Duncan, but it was a serious step up from where he was before. Last season, he scored 6 goals and had 29 assists for 35 points and had a plus/minus of -27 and 56 PIMs. Not very good, but was third on the team in overall scoring. This season, Duncan had 21 goals and 37 assists, good for 58 points and a plus/minus of +18, all career highs. He brought his penalty minutes way down to just 12 as well and was second on the Platoon in scoring. So, I was very pleased with how Duncan did and hope this isn’t a fluke and that he continues to progress as we progress.
The team as a whole also took a big step forward, reaching the postseason for the first time since S49 capping off an amazing 14-5-1 run in the last 20 games and clinching in the second to last game against division rival New England. My linemate Karl Krashwagen led the league in goals and scored 9 goals in his final 9 games, which is an incredible achievement that few of us realized was possible so soon. It’s really great to hear such a good guy mentioned around the league in the MVP conversation. While we face an uphill battle against Edmonton in the first round and are currently down two games to none, the trend is clearly a good one as many of our prospects are finally reaching the point to drive this team forward. |
