1 - Its rich history.
2 - "The purge? Is this not some stupid movie glorifying murder?" bone-crushing defenseman Eero Makela asked. "I do not do purge. If forced to purge, I will remove all pads. I will wear only a jock on the ice, and all will flee in my wake. Part like the Red Seas. Call me Eero Moses. The pads I wear for every game are not for my protection - they are for the protection of my opponents. If I am going to do this purge nonsense, it will start with me purging the ice of all of my competition, as they will run in terror from me. Then, the game is easy. I can score all day, if I want. No goalie for the other team, no skaters for the other team. If anyone dares consider coming onto the ice, all I will need to do is look at them and flex. They will run again." 153 3 - There's suddenly an 18 entity battle royale, but there's no definitive location for the battle. Is it underwater? If so, the Barracuda are the obvious favorites, with the Argonauts a close second. The Inferno have no chance. But what if the battle is in the air? The Steelhawks are likely the runners' up to the Dragons. On land, perhaps the Aurora would win, as they literally are the land. This question is so absurd I'm going to pretend that this battle is taking place in OUTER SPACE, in which case my money is either on Space Dragons or the Phantoms, because I remember playing Super Metroid and Phantoon was a pretty badass miniboss. Regardless of where the battle takes place, I think the Toronto North Stars lose every time, since they're a building with a weird spiky protuberance. It looks like the building got hit by a missile and is already falling down. 153 5 - The best team to not make the finals is obviously the Calgary Dragons. Experience? Check. Active roster? Check. Willingness to do whatever it takes to win games? Big check. They came up short, of course, or else they wouldn't be an eligible response for this entry, but what was it that held them back? Did they get too tired? Was Otis too distracted by some grandma's mams? Who can really say. Honorable mention to Hamilton, who have been a pretty consistent squad in my two stints in this league. I definitely thought they had the upper hand coming into the playoffs. 101 Trivia word: Budget Milestones: https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3045428 |
