It wasn’t the hottest start for Conner Snooks, who had been signed halfway through the preseason for the Nevada BattleBorn. Snooks was signed to fill a winger position and as he likes to put it “take out the trash”. The only problem is Nevada seems to be generating zero trash for Snooks to take out. In the 3 preseason games that Snooks played, Nevada averaged just 19 shots to their opponents 50!! They must be composting their food waste and recycling their plastics over there in Las Vegas.

In a very confusing choice, Conner actually was playing Defense for some of Nevada’s penalty kill in their 7-0 loss to Colorado. Coach must really want star goaltender Willie Miller to get some practice in. Conner would be better paired with more offensively minded line mates who like to take shots and generate rebounds for Conner to put away.

Despite not winning a single preseason game, the team does seem to be coming together. With 13 rookies on the squad, the team will be able to grow together, and who knows, come playoff time Nevada could have a group of Gillette young guns with good chemistry (and clean baby faces ready for that playoff scruff).
