Velky would easily slide into the roster as every roster can use a 288 tpe defenseman. I play better than replacement level and that's all you need not to be a detriment to the team. Because I am above replacement level I would say that I help their chances at winning the cup (because they already won the cup) and since the level of performance they had was already good enough that would mean that my level which does not harm their current performance would actually elevate it into essentially another cup win. Velky is a whaler because he is a champion, and whalers are champions because they have velky (in this scenario).
