Task 1 (3 TPE)

It would be a tough choice to decide which other team would be the best fit for Jones, if he was not in Regina. What would he be looking for? More play time? Easier path to success? All valid reasons to go to certain teams. At the end of the day I think Jones would have ended up at his father’s alma mater in the Kelowna Knights. Kelowna was a team that fought for a 7th overall finish this past season. They are a team that had very good depth but I believe Jones would bring some sandpaper to their 3rd line as they let him develop. Based on his end of season stats he would have led Kelowna in hits and 5th in points. The problem? He would have led the team in Pims (by a mle) and would have lost 3 minutes of average time on ice, when compared with Kelowna’s current line three center. They would certainly have cut into some of his totals but come playoff time he would have shined for this team.

Task 8 (3 TPE) -

What a first season it was for Jones in Regina. Overall a success, but still many things to work on. Regina was a team that was going to struggle defensively and that will be the focus of improvement for Jones as he heads into year two. Along with that, he needs to learn to pick his moments for fights after going 0-7 and be more disciplined as he led the team in penalty minutes by a very large margin. It wasn't all negative though. He came in the league known for his offensive and physical play and he delivered with 152 hits and he was 4th on the team with 39 points. If Jones can improve on the weaknesses from last season he can surely take full advantage of wat should be line one icetime this coming season, but also lead Regina as they look to improve on year one and make it deeper into the playoffs.

Task 11 (3 TPE) -

It's been a busy offseason for Jones, after his debut year with the newly minted Regina Elk. After a disappointing four game sweep at the hands of the Kelowna Knights, Elk players all went their separate ways for the offseason, determined to return better for next year. Jones was invited to the World Junior Championships as part of Team DACH’s roster. Jones fit in well in his first trip to the tournament. He provided 2 goals and unfortunately DACH was eliminated by Finland in round one of the elimination rounds.Jones has spent the rest of his offseason with his newborn son. He was called back early to help the team navigate some rough waters as a change in leadership has made the team need to start fresh going into their second season. As the Elk move forward into the new year Jones looks to help lead his team to a more successful season and hopefully a deeper trip in the playoffs.

Task 13 (3 TPE) -

A) That honor has to go to Markus “The Tater” Jager. Not only because he is Jones’ fellow German brother, but because not many players get a true nickname added to their player in this league and it's always fun to watch a player develop a nickname over their career and just have fun with it.

B) Newfoundland has fought hard to get here and I'm sure they would rather be anywhere but here right now after going 2 games down to start the series. They need to regroup as they head home and make sure they take full advantage of the home fans. They have had trouble slowing Vancouver's top scorers and until they can contain them, each game will be a shootout to the finish.

D) Honestly after their performance in the season i still think this was Vancouver’s cup to lose. They decimated the pack this regular season and boats four 60+ scorers with two of them being over a point per game. Newfoundland was no slouch either. Third in the league with a consensus MVP candidate in Robert Black, who finished with 81 points! Both teams earned their way to this final.
