If you weren't playing for your current team, which team would you most like to be playing for in the playoffs. Explain why you chose that team and how you think you'd slot into their roster. Would your player make a big impact on the team? Would you improve their chances of winning a cup?
Requirements: 150+ words.

Regina. I would be playing for Regina. I thought I would be playing for Regina as it was, actually. I am on a streak with my player going first overall in the SMJHL Entry Draft. The thing is, Regina is the team that won the lottery for that pick and had every opportunity to take me. They opted against it, and sure they can justify it as they made the playoffs and the Maine Timber where I actually went did not. However, Maine was arguably screwed out of it and was inarguably a better team than Regina in every conceivable way. That is thanks to me, and thanks to my impact on the team. I have given them a winner's mentality, and now it will just be about getting them to continue to challenge.

I'm just saying, a top line center such as myself is a difference maker for a team, and Regina absolutely could have used that and opted against it. That's on them for choosing that, but it may have cost them from being one of the best and most motivated teams out the gate.

Make a dream team of players from the two teams in the four star cup finals (3F, 2D, 1G), and give a small explanation for each pick. Alternatively, make a graphic displaying your dream team.

I'm going to make a pretty obvious choice from the outset here and pick up Robert Black from Newfoundland. Why am I doing that? Hmm, let's see. Maybe because he's one of my top prospects as the general manager of Manhattan and I know he's going to be an absolute superstar in this league? Or maybe because he's been one of the best scorers in the SMJHL in the past few seasons and possibly is one of the best scorers to ever grace the SMJHL? It could be any of those, but ultimately it's that you need talent and there is nobody with more talent than Robert Black.

After him, I'm picking up Evil AllBran also from Newfoundland. The guy is literally Evil, and if I know anything about this league, it is Evil. He'll fit perfectly. To round out their line and to make up for the evil, I'm grabbing Robot Sunfish, who is just a fantastic person even though he may not be the greatest earner.

On defense I'm making another obvious grab in both spots and making it Landon Fischermann and Pasta the Turtle. These are two of the best and most fascinating players in the SMJHL. They have so much skill that it would be impossible to beat them as a duo.

Now with three from Newfoundland and two from Vancouver, let's ease into it with an even grouping by taking up Olof Karsikko from Vancouver to man the net as one of the best young goaltenders in the league today.

So your team just got eliminated these playoffs, and have to look forward to next season where hopefully things go differently. What does your team have to be excited about for next season, where they'll have another go at the coveted 4-star cup?
Requirements: 150+ words.

Me. It's all about me, haven't you figured this out by now? I mean, obviously not, but still.

Maine has been out of the playoffs for a while, considering we were one of two teams to not make it at all. This is unfortunate, it's sad, and it really bummed us out. And that's okay. Maine was a team in some turmoil early in the season with an absolute insane person in the locker room driving division throughout the team and then ultimately bringing us together at just the right time. The Timber are perfectly set up for next season as they only graduate one regular from the roster in Bloody Oath, and he already was splitting time at best with Rusty Remao. Meanwhile the team continues to develop, seeing players like Jay Cue and Archangelo Scaradog Jr. hitting the next level cap and seing players like Krunk, Aittokallio and Muz likely to hit the 350 cap as they enter their second seasons in the league. This team has a lot to look forward to.

Write a pre-draft scout report on your player from the perspective of a journalist covering the prospects of the S61 draft class. What do possible SHL suitors have to be excited (or perhaps wary?) about when it comes to potentially drafting your player?
Requirements: 150+ words.

There is a pedigree here that would make anybody salivate. If I wasn't automatically picked to Manhattan as it was, I would be the most sought after prospect possibly in the history of this league. And that's for good reason, there is nobody as good as an Aittokallio. Nobody.

Jesper was the cog that made the motor for Maine move forward, and he sure did. This team went from being a laughingstock of the league to being a respectable team that just had unfortunate events happen to it and is mostly hated. I forgot to mention that I am extremely hated by the jealous people of the SMJHL and the jealous GMs who can't handle how much better I am. This is fine, and expected.

Jesper is a great facilitator, with the ability to work the puck around from behind the net and with incredible vision and planning to make things happen in limited space. He worked amazingly well with Big Newff and Archangelo Scaradog Jr. and showed to have a great feel for the game. That is sure to develop more in the SHL and he should be an all-star caliber player in no time.

Answer up to 4 of these prompts, each one being worth 1 TPE for 50+ words each.
A. Which player from either team has the best name in this series (just the name itself, nothing to do with the player themselves).

Oh this is obvious, Pasta the Turtle is the greatest name possibly in the entire SMJHL at this point. There are contenders from other teams, but nobody in the Finals is as great as Pasta and especially so when you know the background of how the name came to be. Not wanting to expose him, I will just say it's an adorable and incredible player name.

Championship Week +3

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.
