SMJHL GM Littleton Award Winner Quote:1. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max - 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer. This is completed through a Google form linked below. Make sure to spell your answers correctly or you will not get credit. Post your verification word in your CW post. parity Quote:6. Written, up to 4 TPE - Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. a. 53 words - A cup win in the FHM era has more value to me, though the Four Star cups feel more valuable than the Challenge Cups due to the parity issues. The FHM J feels like it strikes the best balance between rewarding GMs and players and allowing for teams to compete with each other. b. 56 words - Probably, though I think that Los Angeles, Tampa, and Baltimore all showed notable relevancy this season. I don't think any are top 3 teams, but they're relevant enough to at least make teams sweat at this point. Having these teams meet in the Divisional Finals masks some of the parity issue in the league right now. c. 64 words - I would move the Steelhawks to Washington D.C., though not just for the low hanging fruit of D.C. being associated with slimy politic and questionable integrity. I think most hated teams in sports end up from the east coast metro areas and it's weird to not have that in the SHL. Boston, New York, Philly, and Baltimore are all taken, so Washington it is. d. 53 words - The S53 gang. Guys such as Minamino, Wagner, Harrington, Duncan, Sutherland, Juke, and Magnus are some of the best players in league history, and many of them are carrying teams to great heights, but their peak seasons are left with them facing off against the likes of Texas and Hamilton again and again. Quote:12. Milestones, up to 3 TPE https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3151124 Quote:14. Written, 3 TPE, Blow it up (150 words min.) The low hanging fruits are Chicago, the old boys about to get pounded by regression, as well as Toronto and New England, both teams potentially struggling to hold on to talent as they bring in new management teams. The team that's flying under the radar but who should still blow it all up is Philadelphia. The organization is already losing Luke, their S54 core is getting hit by the new regression plan, and while they were trending upward I don't know if the old half of the core is good enough anymore. They have a slight window coming up, but if next season starts rough I could definitely see them looking to move valuable components to teams looking to compete in the new look league that we fast forwarded to. Trading for upcoming picks will be additionally valuable given the number of recreates that might be expected, where Acsolap could recreate into one of those classes similar to what JayWhy and Ace have recently done. 165 words Quote:19. Written, 3 TPE, Groundhog Day 150 words min Another shot at S61 would be great not gonna lie. The season was good but could have gone even better. Wagner had a breakout season to the point where he might be breakout player of the year in the SHL but he could have been in the running for a most valuable player award. Los Angeles won the division and took Texas for a good ride in the Western Conference Final, but failed to break the groundhog curse. Finally, Carolina had a legitimate title bid and played the eventual winners closer than any other J team. A different timeline could have been a peak season for my time on the site, a very orange pair of championship weeks, top honors in both leagues, all while continuing to be a rambunctious pain in site leadership's ass with my critiques and ideas. While I would love another shot at the season, I'm happy with how things turned out and think there's still more to be done. 164 words |
