Code: 15. Written, 2 TPE, The yearly IIHF task (100 words min.) My prediction is a return to glory for the USA federation. This is the first time without me behind the helm in over two years. The energy was stale and our results were faltering. Super excited for Geek to come in and bring new life into the team so the nation can be rewarded again for their long time commitment. Combining this with the procrastinators special to say that USA crushed their group in the round robin stage, so it's looking like an easy prediction. Somehow, he made Slip McScruff look like a true pro so far. I'd love for him to get us out of the first round and carry that momentum through to the finals. BEYOND
Code: 18. Written, 3 TPE, Apocalypse Now 150 words min I'm not sure how I split my 5 players. I can either stack them all together and represent a generation of talent spread around the league, or I can space them out so one team can keep drafting them and I'll always have someone at the top of their career. If I go with the first approach, I will find some five characters to steal names from. I can't pick it ahead of time, it will likely be from whatever I am reading or watching when I go to create them. If it was right now, probably Rand, Egwene, Mat, Perrin, and Nynaeve. I would make the full spread of skaters, so they can play together as a forward line and defensive pair in the IIHF, while they would be split across the league in normal SHL play. If I go with the second approach, I would likely go with a familial name approach. Slip McScruff the first, second, third... would all be related and I'd weave some crappy story about their lineage in PTs. I would pick their roles based on what my team needed to come up. I'd spread out the IIHF nationality to be the opposite as the other case. Each McScruff somehow is a different nationality (wink wink) and they play against each other on international ice. Code: 19. Written, 3 TPE, Groundhog Day 150 words min I don't do anything differently. I mean, sure, I pull a Back to the Future and use all the Sports Alamanac gimmicks to gobble up casino bets and prrimetimes. Feed me money and TPE through perfect clairvoyance to prolong my fading life force. However, this gift of knowledge is actually a big fat curse because I know the futility of grinding out in face of SHL parity. Sure, I can make my skater slightly better, and I could even make my whole team also slightly better by sharing my gift curse. But I know that this drop in the bucket is not enough to break the wheel and change the finals. Instead, I keep the foresight tucked into my pocket and just vibe along with myy team. I let the repeat finals and regression changes wash over me as I claim all my TPE right before the offseason. Plus, I get to snort all this spice which is cool. Code: 21. Written, 2 TPE, No take backs 100 words min I pick AlashSCM who is basically just our beloved SlashACM but people are nice to him. The PT prompts will remain creative and open ended so we can all come in and have fun each week. There is something for everyone and you can see the effort he brings every week. When someone gets ready to flame him, they stop, breathe, and remember that a hardworking individual is on the other side of the screen. I know what you are thinking (remember, I have clairvoyance), a simulation league without malicious trolls is pure imagination. That's fine though, because so is AlashSCM. |
