At first, I think scores would lower a bit, because obviously goalies are better and prevent goals more often. But that wouldn't last. Knowing you don't have to defend as much because the goalie is incredible, teams would likely play a more aggressive offensive game. Defensemen with limited attacking capability, no matter how good their defensive attributes, would be much less valued. Enforcers would be more valuable, providing they have some offensive capability too, since throwing the opposition off their groove on offense might be more noticeable, if the forward line has to be firing on all cylinders to score past these godbots.

Then, after a while, this shift will lead to a new meta, in which someone realises that one really good defenseman can make a big difference by taking one attacker out of the equation and dramatically impacting the opposition's chances of beating the super goalie. Slowly, teams start playing two strong defensive players again, and we sort of go full circle back to the lower scoring games.

There are a few ways you could expose this, I think. I have it on good authority that the Panthers are "old men" and a largely shared fondness for good beers and weed. So, I would probably note the lack of enthusiasm for these things, and start asking questions. Things like "hey you ever wonder how we coped before we had broadband internet?" and "man, do you remember giving your computer digital AIDS trying to get your favourite band's latest album?". You can supplement this with passing references to other things old men like, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, and complaining about zoomers. After a while, this will confuse the renegades enough to start catching them in the lie.

Then it's just a matter of setting a trap where people will see it. As everyone knows, the Renegades can't resist winning. It's like an addiction or something, they need help. But this is how we catch them. Foolproof.
