1. CW TRIVIA, 3 TPE max
Anothercwanothersigh 2. Written, 3 TPE, Back In My Day Back in the day of Lenny’s grandpappy Benny, there were barely two pages to the SHL rulebook. Just like real life, the more the life-expectancy of its players went down the more the entertainment value went up. We used to celebrate “concussion tricks” when a guy got domed 3 times. A natural concussion trick happens when its none of your own teammates clapping one into ya, and it’s only the opponent. Another big difference between the two was that the ice creating tech was so weak and useless, hockey games in Florida had to be played on half-ice, because the resurfacing from the ztractor-boni wouldn’t create a playable surface fast enough. It wasn’t until the great Florida Freezer 69 in was invented in 1969 that allowed full-ice games to be played. In addition, SHL players and GMs were allowed to have fun, an emotion that has long been missed in this league, according to many historians. 3. Written, 3 TPE, Those That Came Before (3) What is a Challenge Cup? Do you not mean the Four Star Cup? Interesting typo there. I’m not sure why we’d be talking about the challenge cup. I myself, Lenny Hawk, right defenseman of the Carolina Kraken, from the Mayfield division of the Atlantic conference of the SMJHL. Who would come to me asking about some challenge cup? As you can imagine, the Carolina Kraken of the SMJHL have never played for the challenge cup, that I know of. Some of you are really old, we get it. Maybe Carolina got bumped down a league. That would be an interesting way to run the SHL. Anyways, since we’re talking about Carolina, the last time these guys won a cup was Season 54. With a record of 32-13-5, they earned it every step of the way. A 4-3 series win versus St. Louis, 4-3 series win vs Newfoundland, and a 4-2 series and cup victory in the final. Heroes. Nice banner in the rafters. Fell down once in the middle of a game. 12. Milestones (3) https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3183045 14. IIHF task (2) I predict that the WJC will be a highly touted tournament, with plenty of remarkable hockey players coming off of a very hot SMJHL season that saw the Newfoundland Berserkers suck the fun out of everything once again. We will see dozens of heated, hungry players show up to do battle in their nations colors – a bolstering line of territorial tribalism that is unlike any other feeling in the world. And of course, this level of emotion will be met with the utmost firey passion from the community – half of the teams having inactive GMs, zero messages in the locker room, and single digit viewers, half of which forgot to turn off the stream in another tab. 11a. Procrastination (2) Congratulations to all of us. Once again we have sat here watching nothing really change, and getting the same results in the end. Who’ve thunk! Nothing surprised anyone about the outcome. Both anti-fun teams won, and that’s great. The guys that work hard should deserve to win. Everyone else can absolutely go fuck themselves. It was an entertaining set of games, neither of which having close games that were worth watching whatsoever. The final games of each series was just a solid, wet fart of a strategic win for both teams. Congratulations to them. I look forward to going from losing to Newfoundland to losing to whoever ruins the newest iteration of the SHL. |
