Just by looking at the offensive stats most people are going to see Bnana NWaffles of the Detroit Falcons and immediately think, there is your MVP. He has 39 goals, 41 assists for a league leading 80 points, by far the league lead. He has his team in contention for the playoffs and a cup run, which in my opinion is a requirement for MVP. Will I buck this trend by picking someone else? Well the short answer is no. There isn't a clear competitor on the offensive side.
Looking back at D I think Emil Egli : of the Maine Timber has made a case for himself. He definitely has the offensive numbers as a defensemen however his plus/minus at only a +6 is hurting his chances. I took a look at the goalies as well but I don't feel anyone has really established themselves as an MVP candidate form between the pipes. Sure Caleb Hayden has a league leading 32 wins however that 2.72 GAA and .894 save percentage tell me that he is a product of a good team in front of him. |
