Code: 2. Written, up to 4 TPE - Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 Challenge Cup related topics to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. The biggest reason why Seattle is back in the finals is because of the offseason additions of three champions. The epic three way trade that brought Jonas Kahnwald, Luukas Lilja, and Jimmy Wagner. Bringing in these players not only added a great deal of skill to both the front and back ends. It also added that veteran presence that is key for getting through those gut check periods that teams face every season. (73) Code: b. Manhattan has charged from a ninth place regular season finish to an Eastern conference championship and a shot at the Challenge Cup. I don't think that it's out of line for me to say that not many saw this coming. How do you think they got to this point? Who's performing better than expected? Do you think they have enough gas to complete the Cinderella run? How do I, a proud member of the Philadelphia Forge, think Manhattan got to the final? Pure sabotage and tricky hobbitses style shenanigans. It certainly could not be a case of a bubble team catching fire at the right time and riding home ice advantage against a division rival with the help of a close to 2 points per game player in Lev Lebedev. (64) Code: c. At this point in the playoffs, Manhattan has played four more games than Seattle. With the schedule as tight as it is in the playoffs, do you think that extra hockey will affect them? Could it be a positive that MAN has been in a near constant routine of game days while SEA has seen a bit more rest? Or do you think that wear and tear will start to show on MAN if this series goes to 6 or 7 games? For a young and hungry team with nothing to lose, this does nothing to slow them down. Having and extended break from a quick series would absolutely bring everything to a standstill. This team wants to keep moving forward and not take even a single moment to overthink their current position. (51) Code: d. In many ways this seems like a battle of who can stay hotter longer. Both teams have PDO ratings as high as 110 while barely having any players that dip below 100. Seattle and Manhattan are both on absolute heaters of strong goalies and high shooting percentages. What do you think is driving this, and who do you think can keep it going longer? Who comes out on top? The PDO for both of these teams is high because they are both hungry as hell for victory. Manhattan has been rebuilding for a while and they are finally seeing the what all that hard work was for. They want to bring the cup back to Manhattan bad. Seattle got a taste of big-time success last season and want to join Atlanta in the expansion team with a quick cup club. I think Seattle comes out on top solely on the veteran presence they have. This season I have been rooming with none other than total stud, Hans Graf. We are a couple of young guys, so the usual shenanigans break out whenever we are on a road trip. We have all the latest gadgets to keep us entertained when we are in Calgary in the middle of winter freezing our butts off. We both want to make names for ourselves so we usually do not go too nuts after the game but there are always exceptions. We are growing boys after all. We usually start pranking the older guys or the coaching staff once the beers start flowing. Luckily, our sleep schedule line up pretty good and we are usually on the same page in terms of when enough is enough and rest is needed. (151) Code: 7. Milestones, up to 3 TPE +3 Claim Code: 8.
