Hockey prompt - Written task
To give you my short answer, I think fighting definitely belongs in hockey even tought I'm glad it is less frequent now than it was from the 80's to the early 2000's. On one side, I'm glad fighting is less frequent since I think it allow skilled players to showcase their talent to it's fullest potential on the ice. As an exemple, I don't think Zegras could do all he his doing if the game was as phisical as it was back in the days. I'm glad fighting is a lesser part of hockey now from the perspective of the players health. On the flip side, I think having a way for players to settle things on ice in a relatively controled way (even thought it is very dangerous) is a better alternative than leaving players with no other way tant doing things in the ref's back. As such, the only circumstances that, according to me, justify a hockey fight is settling a beef between two players or responding to a dangerous play.
Getting ready because there is only 364 days before the next hockey team selection ![]() ![]() |
