Honestly, I liked fighting in video games. Dunno if it's because I'm a big fan of fighting games or because I really like martial arts movies but the idea of martial combat is something I'm keen to watch, though perhaps not so much to partake in. That said, while I think it makes for a fun mini-game in your most recent NHL title, I can see why it's not a common feature of the sport itself these days. For starters, that sort of action tends to shorten careers. Players already are exposed to all sorts of deterioration from other things in the sport, I can imagine trying to avoid someone being "punched drunk" is a good move on the whole of it. In the terms of the SHL, I think it has to do with it being more of a distraction than something genuinely useful. Teams aim to score more and fight less, so to speak. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Player Page - Update Page ![]() Former Players: Yoshimitsu McCloud (LW, #64) - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Won a Four Star Cup once, knew ninjutsu, picture editors hated him, never tried free agency Anton Harrier (LW, #90) - ![]() ![]() ![]() Won WJC gold, liked skateboarding a lot, went to the finals with Manhattan, kept his seat glued in LR |
