![]() IIHF Federation Head froggie Code: Written Task: What are your thoughts on fighting in hockey? It's definitely a lot less common these days, do you think that's a good thing? Do you think it has a place in the game, or that it's overdue to disappear entirely? Maybe you wish it happened more often? In your opinion, what circumstances justify a hockey fight? Specific things? Any time you want for entertainment's sake? Tell me your thoughts! (150+ words) I like hockey fights when it's about defending your player who got a harsh check or is getting dogged the whole game. I wasn't around for goon era of the NHL, and I'm kind of charmed by it? I love John Scott and think his insight on the sport is neat, and like the idea of big beefy players protecting their super stars. I think fighting to fight is lame though, and fights that derail the game suck. I get when a team is down by a lot, and they're upset at the end of the game. I'm down with that. I'm also down with an entire line shucking their gloves a la New York Rangers after Wilson messed with Panarin in the game previous. Dudes that are always looking for a fight vs players protecting their teammates is where I start to waver, though, and dudes who fight game after game suck and bring the sport down. Code: 158 words |
