I think that for Joans, his season wouldn't be seen as terrible to the outside eye but to him, I think he would be overall disappointed with his season. Many would say that on a new team and under different systems, the season Joans had would be considered very acceptable. 10 goals and 22 assists, not bad. But with all Joans has accomplished in his career up to this point, he would have expected more out of himself. He had the worst +/- on the team by far, definitely hurting them defensively in someway, perhaps while chasing the offence as he knows, he is creeping up on the record of all time points by a defenceman. He managed to break the record for most goals all time by a defencemen, which was another positive thing that happened. BUt he would have wanted to produce more and give up less at the same time like he usually has in his career. Being balanced overall has to be a goal for next season.
