Written Option 2
If I could change one rule in any league, I would chnage the challenge the play option in the NHL. Right now you can challenge goal whether the puck carrier was actually onside when bringing the puck into the offensive zone. I would not get ride of the rule completely but alter the wording to it. Because I feel like the rule is being used in an unintended way. The offensive team can be in the offensive zone for 30 seconds and a team still challenge whether it was brought in onside. After a certain of a time, it should remove the option for challenging as the play no longer is dependent on the puck coming into the zone. I think if the puck is slowed down at all, if there is possibility of change of possession, or a time limit of 20 seconds is hit then the play can no longer be challenged. Something to keep the rule from being abused like it is now. 182 words |
