Written Option 2: 

Since the playoffs were a bit too short for him, for the first time in like 4 seasons he took some time off to travel and get his mind to think about something else than hockey for a change. 
Took a week of vacation in the Bahamas with the girlfriend and the baby to relax and do things they cannot do in Texas. After that a little trip to Europe to discover new cultures and see lot of touristic attractions.

Traveling is fun, but that doesn't make you a better hockey player. Maybe in your head, but not on the ice. The little brother is playing now in the SMJHL so we got to train together at my home in Texas before we leave to our homeland in Québec. There, we visit family and continue to train with each other. We also play in some "beer league" in the summer with some other québécois in both our team that we know and some that we play against. That way we continue to skate and train a few things before the real training camp.
