As much as I would love to be the jokester on the team, I am now the veteran and I am more the type to give guidance to the young guys and keep the team in check with the goal in mind, which is to go back-to-back this season. It will not be easy but it is doable. The trick is that we need some people to lighten the mood and to KNOW when it is time to lighten the mood. If we are in a bad spot and we are going through a tough stretch, it is not the time to go around and put popcorn in someones car. Or like someone once did in the NHL, they put that purple ink in peoples gloves that goes in ATMs to stain the paper bills. That really would not fly with us here in New ENgland. We are the type to make some jokes and some pranks but lighthearted and not malicious.
