As anybody who has watched a Trix commercial knows, tricks are for kids. Maverick Reynolds is a man...who learned from a manchild on how to play hockey. Naturally, Maverick pulls out every trick in the book on the ice. He doesn't embellish because he thinks that's "bullshit soccer tactics", and usually retaliates further if he sees someone embellish a penalty against him. That usually looks like him dropping the people's elbow on them as a sort of "oh i'll show you a penalty" deal. Once the ref turns up ice, Maverick is known to knock the hell out of whoever is nearby. His philosophy is that if Scott Stevens did it and got away with it, chances are he'll win the case in court whenever he gets suspended. Other times, I'm not sure if you can describe them as tricks, but Maverick will occasionally skate by the opposing bench with his water bottle in hand and spray each one of them in the face just to gain a mental advantage.
