Registered Posting Freak Quote:Written Option 2: How does your player feel about using tricks to gain an advantage in play? If they enjoy tricks, what sort of nasty things do they do to get their advantages for their team? Embellishment? Dirty hits while the refs aren’t looking? If they aren’t keen on those sorts of tricks what could the league do to minimize these tricks from happening in games? How does your player prevent other players from doing these tricks against them? I don’t necessarily consider Jae-ik Barron to be a dirty player. I think there’s a certain honor in playing hockey the way it’s meant to be played, but I also think that taking the high road when your opponents take the low road is loser behavior and if that’s how you approach a competition then you’re doomed to lose. Embellishment is a no-go because only cowards do that, especially when an infraction is simulated whole cloth. Dirty hits can be OK if it’s like an extra large hit or catching an opposing player unaware on the ice, but I’m very against it when it comes to injuring players. Hockey should be tough and painful but it shouldn’t necessarily be dangerous. However, I’m definitely against having the other team do these kind of things to my own player and my player’s teammates. Jae-ik is very quick to answer back when his opponents take liberties with his teammates, and I believe that in order for a hockey team to succeed, they need to think and feel as if they are one unit; a player must have the back of his team and vice versa. |
