Option 2: When you’re not as technically gifted as other players, you have to find ways to even the playing field. Leo knows this, and the main way he does that is with his size, but he also throws in some tricks as well. He won’t go for dirty hits that could injure another player but a an elbow to the side or a stick into the back would go unnoticed. As most other hockey players would, he defends his teammates when they’re on the receiving end of one of these, which is sort of hypocritical but at the same time they’re trying to win so you have to bend the rules. One “trick” Leo is very against is embellishment. He never does it and usually targets players more if they do. After all, if they’re going to act like they got hit way too hard and try to draw a penalty, why not actually hit them that hard. Penalties for him either way and if he actually does it he gets the satisfaction of doing it instead of playing clean and getting called anyways
