6. How was the season for you player? What you expect from next one? Leo Finnegan had an excellent year in the SMJHL developing into a star defenseman. This year was heavily focused on defending and it was a great year at that. Leo was the best player in the league when it came to taking the puck away and reducing offensive chances. His take away to give away ratio was absurdly high for a defenseman. There was some disappointment when it came to his point totals. As one of the league leaders in time on ice, Finnegan was expected to produce a few more points. This next off season will be an exciting chance to work on his offensive involvement. The talent is there, he just needs to get used to having his puck on his stick and making plays faster. Working with skill development teams from Philadelphia and Newfoundland will help speed up the process. Although the Berserkers need to start winning to find true success in Finnegan's eyes, the future looks quite bright. With an upcoming influx of talent through the draft and the young players continuing to develop. Leo will be looked on as a veteran, even though he has already logged heavy junior minutes since his rookie year. If Finnegan can get his offensive game going he could even challenge for the top defenseman in the SMJHL. (218 Words +4 TPE) 7. This time for J: Who you got? Who wins the Four Star Cup? Why? Maine winning the Four Star Cup wasn't a shock for anyone that follows the junior league. Coming off an incredibly dominant 51 win season, Maine was always the team to beat going into the post season. They continued their dominance throughout post season. They won three series enroute to the Finals, only dropping 3 games total. Each series was won by a score of 4-1, and they only lost 2 games to the strong Kelowna Knights roster before raising the Four Star Cup. (83 Words +1 TPE) |
