Ok and having read that I’m still confused at which part of gm tasks not being done is being referenced. If the budget check was done appropriately by budget team (look for accept on the contract post), and the audit that as far as I know head office is still supposed to be double checking, otherwise what are they getting paid big bucks for? It was time consuming when I worked head office, but part of the job in keeping the site moving smoothly and in this case would have avoided a team eating a $10M cap penalty next season, which will be pretty crippling to them.
If budget did their job and checked this post it seems it would have been caught, and if head office approved the gm task completion without actually checking its completion then that’s grounds for losing their job. I am a squeaky wheel on this because I view it as an un nessecary thing to happen once the season is underway, as we have multiple layers of checks in place to catch these oversights.
