Goalies in hockey are a special breed of human let alone player and as a result they need a special amount of time and handling. Being a defenseman my job is to give the tender the best job to achieve their best ability between the pipes and often that means just leaving them alone. Most netminders dont need you to tell them you are sorry or they had bad luck. Most know it was their fault and their responsibility alone, as much as this is a team sport in the end its their only job to stop the puck and they need to do that on every shot. Some are different and like to talk about it, others curse and slam their sticks. But most just stay in their own head, their zone and take full ownership of the goals let in. Even when it was those lazy forwards fault for not back checking.
