Written Option 2 for Goalies:
Staying focussed for a whole 60 minutes of hockey (if you are not being switched out for being terrible) is quite the difficult task. As hockey is a game of speed and fast changing posessions you really have to stay on edge for the whole game. Every attacking posession can dramatically change with a giveaway into breakaway and you have to be awake and ready for when that happens. This differentiates the sport from soccer where the field is more lenghthy or Football where you have build-in pauses every now and then. Gino had some troubles with staying focussed, especially after conceding goals, because frankly, he hates losing or being beaten by a cheeky offense skater. To stay focussed Gino has worken with a mental coach, a professional psychologist who he worked with on certain, secret strategies to keep focus and get rid of past bagagge as conceded goals. It's something that some player have already done and Gino can only recommend working with a coach as iit really brought up his Mental Toughness to a whole new level. |
