If you had asked me this question before this season, I would have said Hans Gronlund would be out of the game in the early rounds, and most likely not even gone. But Hans has come out of the gate swinging this season, recording 5 pts through his first 4 games and continuing to be a defensive leader on Vancouver. So now, I think not only would Hans go, I think Hans could move on to the later rounds of the game, potentially even winning! It's always a big toss up with players like Hans, who may have hidden talents but are solely focused on one aspect of the game and doing it well, but he is showing the world right now that he's not just a one trick pony.
The other athletes involved would have to be other great players from minor league sports systems around the world, otherwise there would be no competition. I can't say I'm too familiar with minor league systems in sports that aren't hockey, so I'll leave this part up to the showrunners to figure out. As far as the worst sport for Hans, I think it would definitely have to be american football, as his skill set would leave him stuck in an offensive lineman role, and his physicals just aren't up to par with the size of football players. |
