Of course each season's first opening night is very special to the team, and Will Tomlander knows that too. He tries his very hardest on the ice to get his team the win in order to make it special for the fans who show up for the home opener. He appreciates all the fans who show up and cheer the team on especially since the team has not been very good in recent seasons due to the rebuild that was taking place. It means a lot to him and he wants to make sure that the efforts of these fans are acknowledged and returned by the team. Playing in front of a home crowd that is supportive makes the game feel so much better, especially when you can deliver a win for the fans. That is one of the parts of playing hockey that he is so appreciative for, and one of the best feelings ever.
