Jett Labyrinth’s last home opener as a Newfoundland Berserker was pretty emotional for him. Before the game, Jett tried to treat it like any other game, doing his normal routine and regular superstitious habits. During the pre-game ceremonies, however, when his name was called out he realized that this would be the last year he’d spend in St. John’s, and looking around at all the fans cheering him on almost brought a tear to his eye. He knew he had to lock in for the game as it was against one of their big rivals, the Quebec City Citadelles, the defending champs, and a possible future playoff match-up. Perhaps a bit shaken up from the ceremonies, and trying to be as intense and aggressive as possible, Jett took three minor penalties for 6 penalty minutes total. Despite taking these penalties, Newfoundland won 4-1 and he got an assist. After the game he signed autographs and took pictures with every fan he could as he knew how special they have all made his time here feel like.
