Opening night after a cup win is always something special, and this season was no exception. As is becoming tradition in San Francisco, we had plenty of time to shake the rust off during our opening road trip, and entered banner night with a 4-1 record before hosting the Manhattan Rage for our sixth game of the season. Fans were treated to a pre-game concert outside the stadium, with appearances from several Pride players who took the time to sign memorabilia and pose for fan pictures before heading inside to prepare for the game. Fans and players alike were misty-eyed when the Pride's second ever championship banner was raised to the rafters alongside the S76 banner, and unlike some banner nights, the team came out in full force to defeat their opponents 9-0. Justin Time was particularly impressive, turning away all twenty-three shots for his second shutout of the season.
