Anna Skovgaard loves the pageantry of opening night. The Calgary Dragons always go all out on opening night, they roll out the red carpet in front of the stadium where the players walk into the stadium to the cheering of thousands of fans, and the players love to see who can come up with the most over the top outfit. It's been an incredibly popular tradition with the players, Anna was a little shy about it in her rookie season, but is going all out for this season. After the opening walk, the in arena entertainment team put a ton of effort into a crazy pyrotechnics and lights show to hype up the crowd before the player introductions. Calgary played their home opener versus the New Orleans Spectres, and the Dragons did not disappoint, winning 5-2. Anna scored the fifth goal of the night, capping off an exciting home opener and hopefully previewing an exciting season to come.
