My name is Gappy Hilmore. Ever since I was old enough to skate, I loved hockey. I wasn't really the greatest skater, but that didn't keep my dad from teaching me the secret of making a great slap shot. My dad worshipped hockey, but my mom didn't. So she moved to Egypt, where there's not a hockey rink within 150 miles. Dad took me to games to see our favorite player, Jarrod Lakemore. He wasn't a big guy, but he feared nobody, just like me. Handsome feIIow, huh? He said when I grew up, I could be anything. But all I ever wanted to be was a hockey player. My childhood was going great, and ended up being great! I was able to play at every stage of hockey in school, and I held numerous records, like most points scored in a season and also most time spent in the penalty box. Once I graduated HS though, my father got ill and passed away shortly afterwards. I was offered to live with my grandma as I didn't have anyone else, but I was also old enough to stay at my dad's place until I got everything situated. I was then offered a scholarship to play at UCONN where I actually became a renowned left wing for the team. Because I had hatred in me for my father passing, I was able to harness that and use it out in the rink by delivering punishing blows with and without the gloves. Since this was during the NIL time, I was able to accumulate some money and learned that my grandma had gotten into debt and hadn't paid her taxes in years. Once I was able to pay that off, I offered for her to stay with me, but she told me not to worry and that I should chase my dream of playing professional hockey. With everything settled in my home life, I was able to put all of my focus into making it to the SHL. Nothing was going to stop me from going above and beyond to make sure I would be the professional hockey player I always dreamed of!
