5. As both teams have lots of European players from all over the continent, there are a quite a few options, but since Ireland rarely held such major hockey events in the past, the choice should be them with Dublin and Cork as the host cities. Local fans would go nuts seeing their heroes Rowan O'Beirne, Filip Svatos, Toasty Söderberg-Snooks, Viktor Hargreeves and Shotty McStopper play in their home country and fans from the rest of the world would have a grand ole time. 13. Team Rhine has consecutively improved since not qualifying for the quarter-finals in S75, finishing 4th in last season's tournament. Even though they lost big contributors in Jason Warwaha and NoNo Jo to the IIHF after S78, they built a solid team again and it was time for players like Andrea Morandi, Felix Carlsson, Emeric Gagner and Louis Belanger to shine once more after having already two or more prior tournaments on their resume. This season's cast looks impressive, too, with Morandi, Mc Zehr III, Kaptina, Dienhart, Karlsson, Marineau, McLazy, Fruhstuck and Bindewald from the medal round team of S79 being on the roster again. Some of them will have their final WJC tournament this season and some will give it one or two more go's, but scouts predict already, based on the player's potential, that Germany might see (more) great performances in the future from the likes of Dieter Fruhstuck, Katharina Rosenthal and Chris McZehr III. France is looking forward to welcoming Normand Marineau and Switzerland can't wait for Dejana Kaptina to continue her career for the national team. One more thing to note is the addition of some notable players from other nations, foremost WJC S79 winning goalie Jon-Isaac Forty-One and defenders Lewis Holl and Pavel Mintyukov. The future is bright and it's time for Team Rhine to shine. |
