Anchor: The SHL officially announced an upcoming expansion, and locations are already putting their hat into the ring to try and be the next franchise team. Our sports reporter has the story,

Reporter: Along the beaches of the North Carolina coast, sits a beatiful lighthouse and a symbol that the family of Calgary Dragons player Jeffrey Bjelland has pushed the SHL with an idea to expand. We spoke with him.

Bjelland: Our idea of the Oak Island Wickies, started small, but with so many lighthouses on the coast we thought it was a great idea to focus on the group of people that light the shores for all the boats on the ocean to see.

Reporter: They said they would be willing to build an entire new arena as well as many hotels and resorts to increase tourism if the league decides to go with that location.

Anchor: While no team name or location has officially been selected yet, it's certainly interesting to see the places around the world big and small that are campaigning for a team.
