it has been established at this point in his career that dieter frühstück is not a fighter. he may be big, but he has never fought across his four year smjhl career. this ends tonight. the armada are playing the whalers, their biggest rival, when hans gronlund, second in the shots blocked category to frühstück, comes up to him and talks mad shit. he calls dieter a "shots blocked merchant" and disses his defensive ability. dieter can't take this lying down - he is the only two-time winner of the alexis metzler trophy for best defensive defenseman, after all. so he tells gronlund to square up. he did this for two reasons. the first is the aforementioned diss, and the second is to spark his team. the armada are struggling compared to past season, and as captain dieter wants to put a spark in his teammates so they can go on a run in the postseason. it helps that he won the fight.
