The SHL isn't structured in a way that encourages player movement. The NHL's pro-rated cap makes cap space valuable to have, and increases flexibility at the end of the season, making trades possible that couldn't have fit under the cap at the start of the season. Add the fact that the SHL's adjusting salary tiers discourage long-term contracts and the type of moves we see in the NHL just aren't possible here
