The rules are that the fan has to get at least a minute of ice time in each period. This allows the teams to implement strategy on when to use the fan and when not to. This could create some electric moments. Imagine a fan getting lucky and tipping in a game winner. Or a fan getting walked by a forward and giving up a goal. The highlights and opportunities are endless. This would probably add some randomness to games. You could get lucky and get a fan that played college hockey or you could get a soccer mom with 8 kids.
