Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.
Written Option 1: So, we have already seen back to back cups in both leagues and the same teams are once again one of the top competitors. So it happens that your player gets randomly selected to mix things up. They get to make any rule changes to the game for these playoffs to try ensure that we get the most unpredictable and exiting playoffs. What changes do the do? Are they trying to just create chaos or maybe trying to tune the rules to benefit their own team? How far would they push things, does it even look like hockey anymore after they are done? Would we still see three-peats in both leagues?
Graphic Option 1: Create an image showing the impacts of the rule changes your player would make.
Written Option 2: Often the top scoring forward is heavy favorite for the Sarmad Khan Trophy (the players MVP) but it doesn’t has to be so. Select a player or few players from defencemen, goalies and forwards other than Logan Webb (sorry spidey) who you think should be in consideration when people are voting for MVP and how they compare against Webb. Who you predict will end up winning the Sarmad Khan Trophy?
Graphic Option 2: Create a graph comparing different MVP candidates
You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements.
All responses are due on Sunday, March 23rd at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE.
Graphics need to be viewable when PT is graded or you will not receive TPE. Discord only hosts images for very limited time.

This task is for SHL players and send downs only. If your player is S82 or S83 this is not for you.
Written Option 1: Because the rule changes can be as extensive as possible, it is clear what must happen. No longer will the playoffs be about hockey, and no longer will the teams gear up to go to the ice at all. No, now the SHL and SMJHL playoffs will both be exciting and brand new... welcome to SHL's Parkour Tag Playoffs. Each team gets to pick 5 main players as their starting lineup, and one jail keeper. Then they set out across the city, protecting their jail (or jails? Multiple locations to defend could be fun), tagging the opponents and sending them to jail. Of course, if a player manages to reach the other jail and tag their captures teammates, those players get to 'jail break', joining the game as a whole. Once the entire team except the jail keeper is captured, the jail keeper can finally move (and be captured). The round ends if the jail keeper gets captured before managing to initiate a jail break for their team. Testing will need to be done to see how many rounds per game, but at least two seems like a good idea.

There were a number of players in Season 81 who had excellent seasons and were huge contributors to their team's success. But I would like here to highlight one player in particular who I feel really elevated themselves into the conversation as the Most Valuable Player in the league. Center Shadow Fenix from the Seattle Argonauts has always been an exceptional player, from winning the Jesster Trophy in S77 and never having a season below point-per-game. S81 was just his 5th season in the league but he has to already be considered as one of the premier players in the SHL. He scored 42 goals and 61 assists for 103 points. To put his stats in perspective, let's have a look at some of his rankings:
2nd in points
T5th in goals
T4th in assists
2nd in PP Goals
1st in PP Assists
1st in PP Points
2nd in Shot%
5th in Takeaways (2nd amongst Forwards)
1st in Pts/60 minutes
and finished the season on a 17 game point streak (36 pts)
That last stat is so important because at that point in the season, the Argos were only in 4th place in the division with just 1/3 of the season remaining. Shadow literally put the team on his back and helped them vault into 2nd in the division and 5th in the league. So I hope he will definitely get some love in the awards discussions.
William Salming predicts that there won't be a three-peat this year. San Francisco will be beaten by some team. But that team is still a secret. Salming would make a rule change where top teams in the league would have play against each other and at the same time wild card teams would face each other. Fans would be excited to see some top heavy hockey already in the 1st playoff round that way. It would mix results nicely and add some surprising elements to the playoffs. Media would love to see too that best teams play against each other like in the 4 nations face-off. So, that would be a rule change that Salming would make to mix things. Would it still prevent a threepeat? I don't know but hopefullyl yes because Salming would have to see a team win three times in a row because he did only twice in a row in Seattle during seasons 67 and 68.
Choosing and MVP who is not a forward this season will be very easy. Sure Logan Webb had a great season. 108 points and 50 goals is definetly MVP cosideration. But was it really the difference that gave the Lions the bump over the other teams? Every forward on SF this season had atleast 22 goals and 60 points and both of Logan Webbs linemate also almost hit 100 points. If you put any other skilled forward into Webbs spot San Francisco maybe scores 20 fewer goals this season and still finishes first with the best goal difference of the league. Logan Webb also wasn't too much ahead of everyone else in that scoring race. The difference was just 1 goal and 5 points.
But there was another player on that team who was a real difference maker. A mile ahead of everyone else on this position and a real differencemaker compared to any other team. Justin Time may be 100 years old by now but there is still no other goalie playing at such a high level in the entire league. A .923 Sv% is the best of any starting goalie for the past 4 seasons but the real difference was finishing the season with 49 goals saved above expected. Almost twice as many as any other goalie this season and for the past 8 seasons the last time another goalie came close with 37 goals saved above expected was in season 73. I wanted to check if this is an all time SHL record but the stats for seasons 6 - 11 seem broken and unrealisticly high. But if you don't count them for that reason. This is an SHL ALL TIME RECORD. Give Justin Time the MVP award.
When you consider the Sarmad Khan, you should probably look at it as less of a MVP award and more as an outstanding player award because of how people vote on it. Most people aren't putting much thought into it, so often that means picking the highest scoring player just so they can secure the TPE. So, with this in mind, I think we have a couple options. A quick look at defense and I didn't really see anyone who blew me away there. For forwards, the obvious choice is Webb. Solid season going over 100 points as a winger. He'll probably get a lot of votes as the highest scoring forward, and I do think those votes are deserved. The other option is Justin Time, who had a good season as a goalie, probably the best of his career. So, toss a coin, and choose one of them as the most outstanding player this season. If you were to ask me at this very moment who I would vote for, I think Time, but I want to give it a little more thought first.
