Game 1 of 5 today in the action packed SMJHL. Today we see the Colorado Raptors square off against the Vancouver Whalers in beautiful sunny Vancouver. Both teams have came out struggling to start the season. 2-2 for the Colorado Raptors, and Vancouver Whalers are sitting at 1-6 on the year. Vancouver has been struggling the most out of the two teams.

First period: It was quiet during the first period for both teams. The Colorado Raptors outshot the home team of Vancouver. No penalties during the first period. BUT there was a fight between two women in the stands. As you can see by the video the first woman’s snags the second woman’s hair and drags over into the Vancouver’s bench, and throws her onto the players laps. The police and security rush to the bench to break up the fight as the players started to cheer for the fight and the players even started making bets who was gonna win the fight. Some Colorado players came over to watch the fight. As the ladies got taken out of the arena by security. Everyone was booing the security for stopping this amazing fight.

Second Period: Now that the fun was over it was back to hockey. The second period was interesting because 50 seconds into the second period. The Vancouver Whalers scored with an amazing goal by Ryosuke Sato his first on the year. 10 minutes into the game Bryce McMahon scored from a perfect pass from Slimey Snail, that was Bryce McMahon’s first goal until when he added another goal with only less than two minutes on the clock. He had another pass set up perfectly for him by Domenic Alessandrini. Johnny Shuffleboard has two assists as well as Domenic Alessandrini in the second period. Vancouver went into the third period with a 3-0 goal lead.

Third Period: The third period was full of back and forth shot after shot after shot from both teams. Colorado Raptors had many chances to try and chip away at the lead in this game. They were outshooting the Vancouver Whalers each period. It was finally the final meteor that hit the last surviving Raptor and ended the Raptors chances at surviving this game. The meteor was a puck that got passed the Colorado’s goalie in the fourteenth minute. This time it was Sven Yxskaft scoring after being set up by Wile Coyote, that goal was Sven Yxskaft’s first goal on the year. Despite Colorado having outshot Vancouver 32-25 they still left the game with an (L) on their record with a 4-0 lose.
