Player Prompt

Coach is sending out Rand Al'Thor, the man predicted by fellow league get the most penalty minutes by the end of the season. Buck would be willing to fight if he needed to but should not be relied on to fight. In the SMJHL Buck was linemates with Pope Coswi who would fight for the Berserkers. In their time together Pope taught Buck how to fight and how to fight properly. Both Buck and Pope knew they would not be linemates for ever. Pope realized that Buck needed to know what to do when he was not around. Buck see's fighting in hockey as something that really only happens when players from one team decide to protect their fellow teammates or enact justice if we perceive to be dirty hit that injures on of our players. Although not a fan of it, Buck does realize that it is and will always be part of the game.

I don't fight, plain and simple, I'm here for one reason and one reason only and that's to score, if I'm not scoring I'm trying to help my line score, only situation I find myself dropping the mitts is if someone touches the goalie, even then I'm very hesitant to do so due to the fact that I should be on the ice and not in the box. We have a few players on Kelowna who are more than willing to trade blows with the other team if the situation arises and I've never felt more protected. I will admit I like to egg on some of the other players on teams just to try and get a penalty drawn and when it comes down to dropping the mitts I'll just crack a smile and hope that it just frustrates them and causes them to break a little mentally thus giving us a powerplay.

Jaska Seppala of the Buffalo Stampede is not afraid of fighting. In fact, Jaska Seppala absolutely loves it. He loves getting all bloody from his blood and his opponents blood. He loves how much it energizes the crowd. It really does make the crowd go nuts. Jaska Seppala suffers from a lot of brain damage so he has absolutely no idea who he has fought or whether he has won those fights or lost those fights he just loves being apart of the fight. If he could, he would absolutely fight a goalie but that would probably be certain death for him. This one time a player shot Chimkin Wing @Ragnar the most handsome player with a dirty hit and Jaska Seppala went absolutely mental. He managed to pull the players jersey over their head and just started to beat him because nobody touches Chimkin Wing except for Jaska Seppala. Fighting is life for Jaska Seppala

Kawashima has never been much of a fighter. He prefered to settle his arguments with his skillful play and beating opponents that way. However there was one player that just struck Kawashima's nerve compeltely in the wrong way. This was back in high school hockey. The player he fought was Izo Shimura, the captain of Kawashima's high schools disctrict rivals. It was an unusual night for Kawashima as Shimura had been chirping him all night and Kawashima had been unable to produce in any kind of way. It was late in the third and Kawashima's team was behind by one goal. He threw back an insult at Shimura and challenged him to a fight. Shimura nodded, the gloves came on and the fight strated and... Kawashima got knocked down in two punches. As previously mentioned, Kawashima is not much of a fighter. Irony struck though as with their captain in the box, the disctrict rivals played a lot worse and Kawashima's school ended up scoring two goals before the final whistle to win it all.

On one hand I think fighting in hockey is pretty ingrained and shouldn't be frowned upon when it happens in game, but then on the other I completely understand the safety aspect of it. Growing up there was a team called the K-Wings near me, and I remember going to games as a kid and there would be a drop the gloves and fight every game back then. Now they are few and far between whenever you're watching a game. For the fans thinking about it now, it is pretty crazy that the whole crowd stands up and starts cheering when it breaks out. But for the safety aspect, we now understand so much more about what happens when you get repeated blows to your head and concussions. Maybe some people just think it's people getting soft, but if you knew that you would have so many issues mentally as you grew older, would you really take that chance?

Honestly, I liked fighting in video games. Dunno if it's because I'm a big fan of fighting games or because I really like martial arts movies but the idea of martial combat is something I'm keen to watch, though perhaps not so much to partake in. That said, while I think it makes for a fun mini-game in your most recent NHL title, I can see why it's not a common feature of the sport itself these days. For starters, that sort of action tends to shorten careers. Players already are exposed to all sorts of deterioration from other things in the sport, I can imagine trying to avoid someone being "punched drunk" is a good move on the whole of it.

In the terms of the SHL, I think it has to do with it being more of a distraction than something genuinely useful. Teams aim to score more and fight less, so to speak.

Sorry coach, that won't be me. I am all in on action, but I am normally not the center of it. I am like that type of player that wants to have fun in the rink. If we lose, it is going to be frustrating, but I am still not the type to get aggressive and start a fight. I get along with opponents pretty well, like the positive type of interaction with opposing players. Like what Larry Fitzgerald was in the NFL, I am this type of player in the hockey rink on ice. Trying to get interaction, but more on a joking kind of way. this more often than not irritates other players, putting them out of the concentration they need for the game. Catching them off guard, making them chuckle, all those stuff. Definitely didn't work in that game if we are down by 5 in the third, but still that's my type of play and that's who I am. One of the hardest things is to get me to start a fight with someone.

yeah ok so you know that when we are down by five im gonna be heckin big giga mad and i dont even need the coach to be barking some dumb shit from behind my mullet to know that some knuckles are gonna have to get dusted real good iv has been in quite the many scuffle with the hawk family if theres anything that is sacred in life its when some loser cruises up along you and roleplays a tough guy with the cute line hey wanna go like boy i grew up in the swamps of jacksonville asking gators if they wanna go and im expertly trained by the boys in blue on how to properly escalate a situation so that physical force is always required in fact i was the first player in the jacksonville peewee hockey league to be assessed a fighting major and a game misconduct for telling the ref i was going to eject his mom

I’ve always liked to build my players to have an edge. I’ve never built an enforcer or anything like that, but power forwards are right up my alley. Playing with a physical edge is what I think makes hockey awesome. It’s a contact sport and sometimes things get violent. I wouldn’t mind dropping the gloves for my team, just don’t expect it to be a nightly occurrence. I prefer to stay out of the box as much as possible.

It’s on sight with Gabe though. I’ll sit for 5 any night to beat him up. He’s a grubby lil rat on the ice and deserves what’s coming to him. That’s just my opinion though. A really popular opinion at that. Many people are saying it, they are all agreeing with me. I hope you’re reading this Gabe. There is a knuckle sandwich sitting on the deli counter for you. luckily in atlanta we have a player who's specifically on our team for this exact purpose - his name is Tomas Kalnoky and he's godawful at hockey. Efiug went inactive long ago and dude has like 250 TPE so his player truly is trash (though he does sometimes rack up some assists, probably just by virtue of being on the ice at all you are bound to end up in the right place at the right time at some point i guess idk) and he plays the Enforcer role for us. That means if anyone comes for our actually good players, specifically our diva forwards like Pablo Salvatici or Salzberger Lillehammersson or the biggest divas of them all Viktor Krunk and Jay Cue - it's up to Tomas to step up and deliver the message to the other team. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the courage or fighting skills to actually do anything out there, but maybe his presence is so imposing that just his very existence is enough to deter opponents from getting dirty even without an actual fight.
