I think part of why we see fewer deadline moves and trades in SHL than in the NHL is because of the investment in the narrative and the social life. Which isn't to say that guys in the NHL aren't invested in their social lives, obviously they are, but the narrative? Totally different. Plus, there's not really A Business Side to things in SHL like there is with, say, the Bruins.

Id actually love to see some more movement. I think the TDL is super hyped in real life, probably too much, but it would be fun if it was a bigger deal in sim leagues. I’m not sure what could be done though. Some sort of incentive to making moves on the day, but honestly drawing a blank.

Considering the mostly social nature of the SHL, I appreciate the strong loyalty a lot of players have to their teams and GMs, not to mention vice versa. Encouraging more movement would make it harder to settle into the SHL, considering how truly large it is.
SHL should turn into a Hunger Games format where every season, each team loses two players to a fight (and then the teams where the players do not survive, those teams need to trade or get players from FA to replace them)

I’m not a GM, so this type of question is harder for me to answer. If there was greater variations in the contracts that could be offered and the caps that were in place, maybe we’d see more movement? I really don’t know.
Give selling gms a bonus fkr good trades as voted by the league. Remove salary cap money from them for bad trades voted in by the league.
Honestly, I think what can be hard is the social aspect of this league. I have so many people I want to play with and be on teams with, but I also have intense amounts of guilt when it comes to potentially leaving teams. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings and I imagine many feel the same.

I think the trade deadline comes down to player movement as a whole, which is also a lot lower in SHL than real life. Players are often moved at the deadline IRL because they are on an expiring contract and looking at free agency. We don't see a lot of movement to free agency, especially not among highly valued players. If you found a way to encourage further movement in free agency, that would also boost the trade deadline

I think its fine as it is. I personally would like to see free agency/team construction impacted by either having less teams with more lines AND having shorter careers personally.
