S81 mPT #4: Too Dead didn’t Line Due: Sunday, March 16th @ 11:59 PM PST

It's hard to make player movement as big a thing as real life because it's a social activity vs a skill and training activity. Teams get better by being more active and having more people participate. Trading people out of the locker room is tough plus when almost every team makes the playoffs, sellers aren't really common mid season

Player movement is hard during the season since budgets are so tight, so we should open up three way deals for retention like the NHL allows, maybe that would spice things up a bit

I think that a league where players don't get paid in real money has more need to focus on player happiness, so it shouldn't try to impose more chaos on them.

There should be less playoff spots and more pay disparity between good and bad players. When everyone makes near the same amount of money the cap hit for a good player and a bad one isnt big. Force teams at not age in year but tpe levels when a depth player is making almost the same as your star its hard to move thoses contracts.

Theres just not really much of an incentive. There might be a chance you could get some more money but that can be fixed other ways, and then it just depends on if someone wants to go to a team more because of who is there. In which case you cant really predict that

I dont want to encourage more trading. I like being on teams with my friends and I would not like to see them traded ! So I like the way it is right now

With the way contracts and the salary cap are structured in the SHL, I think there would need to be some other changes before we see a trade deadline of significance. As of now, the only time you see multiple big trades are when a team or teams are starting a rebuild.

Honestly, I was really hoping for a level of excitement at least slightly similar to the the NHL, but it was disappointing. With the state of the league right now, there is definitely an imbalance in TPE within teams resulting in bottom teams becoming worse while better teams become more powerful. Therefore, I believe creating more teams (expansion drafts) could twist things up for the better.

As people have previously stated there are some real challenges with FHM but really I think there isn't enough movement of players. I'm not sure how you encourage doing more. Maybe assign some players who's job it is to facilitate trades and make sure everything works out? But I do think it would make things more interesting to see players get traded more often.

I definitely think something should be done to help facilitate trades in the SHL. Maybe reducing cap hits. Journey Man is already a shock to the system, and even then it's still tough to get trades through.

I think things are fine as it is, we arent paid athletes that have 'jobs' to do, i dont think its fair to trade aways people that dont want to and if they would want they would say to their gm.

I don’t see the SHL TDL as something that needs to be more hectic than it already is. The peak of activity for both the SHL and the J is usually the draft.

You need more teams selling, and you would need to incentivize teams selling and buying. Most of our movement happens in the offseason. Quite naturally SHL doesn’t have as much at stake so they don’t need to do anything rash.

I think that there needs to be a rebalance in players regarding star level players and just mooks (like me) to get trades to happen. It's also hard because people's careers are so long here that it makes it hard to lose an asset that could be good in a few seasons when you compete and draftees take so long to get up to speed

I personally think that things are ok as they are. In my opinion, If teams don't really move, thats because they feel like their core is good and that there is no real need for change!(or that the prices on the market are too high)
