S56 SMJHL PT #2 - Season Preview
#16

Noah and the team are really excited to get the season underway. The 3 key players that the Nevada Battleborn have focused to put their success around is Tanjiro kamado, Grandmaster Funk, and Zoidberg the third. The team has a VERY stacked roster at least from what's been going around the city and team. The whole entire team looks to make a playoff run. The team is really stoked and just waiting for games to start. The city is excited and now it's all about waiting and fixing the small things for the team. And embracing the future, Noah Johns III looking to make a legacy in Nevada. As he tries to top his dads 1 season with the team but was still a household name. But the defense is a issue that the Battleborn hope to fix as in pre-season the defense was a little sketchy during pre-season but maybe it was just the start of the season jitters! We'll have to see. See you next time, GO BATTLE BORRN!!!  Battleborn

The Kelowna Knights are looking very sharp, as they welcome new faces and improved players. RW Kynwyl Pearce will come into this season as a totally different player after some intensive training, as will LD Teddy Park and RD Chris Goodname, to name some of the hardest workers in the team. LW Patrick Money shined in the preseason, showing great versatility among every lines, and looks to help the team in many different angles. New faces in the team emerge, as five new offensive players in MCFelter, Hamilton Jr., Huff, Malik and Pontecorvo show up, bringing each a unique playstyle. From Malik's grit and strenght to Pontecorvo's agility and athleticism, the batch of S57 bring a new shape to the offense of Kelowna, who found itself a bit empty after last year's SHL draft. Although he didn't see any ice time in preseason, McFelter found a natural pace on the ice with Huff and Malik, showing chemistry and earning the famed nickname of the Triplets for their line.

Detroit Falcons played preseason games, where our team results varies a lot. That doesn't make me worry at all. At least we're going to fight every game. There is few players who played great preseason, including center Oskar Baldus, who did three goals. Also Yngve Simonsson and Jonathan Granström leads Falcons take few big win against Kwlowna Knights and Anchorage Armada. Our team also have few new top prospect, including myself, Anton Mihailov. I'm pretty sure, that I will not make huge impact for first season, but I hope that at future I can grow up better and better player and help Detroit Falcons get glory and respect! Every game is important to our team and I want to believe that we're ready to have a great regular season. It's also very important that Detroit Falcons goaltender Valtteri Aalto can help us to win tight games. We need him important saves every games for sure!

The Detroit Falcons have taken on three energetic newcomers, Jimmy Nutcluster Right Defense, Anton Mihailov Centre, and Mikhail Borisnoff Left Winger. With our energy and powers combined, we will bring Detroit Falcons to the top. Our call for the wild, our eagerness to win will be of no negative impact to flank along the sides of the Falcons. Nutcluster, a man of honor, a man of huge cock, and a man who never backs out of a challenge. A man once challenged Jimmy to a game of backyard ice hockey. A fair game and a fair fight. But during this match, the opponent tripped Jimmy, snagging his nutsack on a chipped cunk of ice, getting caught in the delicate skin, splattering blood everywhere. Jimmy cried like a little bitch but only for a few minutes while his opponent scored illegal goals. Jimmy stood up, his sack in a cluster, and skated with what little energy was left. He skated through the pain with all the anger in his heart. Shoved the opponent, scooped the puck, and did his best to make it to the goal. Jimmy kept whispering to himself "you can do this you old sausage" while he felt his testes melt. He took his shot and as the puck hit the net, as his opponent was paralyzed from shock, Jimmy fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face. It was then he knew he had the power in him to do anything. Jimmy, recollecting this memory after first soaking in his new spot on the Detroit Falcons, will never let his fellow teammates down. Even with his nuts in a cluster.

Not a huge research is that Kelowna won't be cup condenders this year, as few SMJHL veterans have been called up. In same time, it's good sign to rooks Pontecorvo, Malik and Hamilton Jr. that the way to glory is wide open and these guys is everything they need to prove their worth to SHL teams. The offense won't be the aspect of winning games tough, cus the wall in defence is really impressive in names of Goodname and Park. The goaltender Ramsey also will need a helpful hand from these defenders to pull out wins. The other half season is gonna more bright for this young crew, as they gonna improve as season goes, but anyway they gonna need to get really good chemistry, to stand tall and strong as a team even in the worst looses. We really can't say this team is trash, they definitely have something to get known for along the league.

The Colorado raptors are off to a great start in this offseason. with a record of 4-2-1, many players from last year will try to fill up the spots of the called up players. Without further ado, here are my to 3 picks for this season.

The raptor's most important players starts with Asclepius Perseus Flitter who will provide a steady and very needed veteran presence for this season. He had 18 goals and 24 assists last season for a total of 42 points. He will be the backbone of this team. I have talked with Asclepius, He declared that he is confident with our group, both forwards and defensemen.

My second pick is the most important defenseman in the team: Aumy Jr. With his incredibly long range power, he will get a lot of powerplay time along with top ice time. In the post season, he amassed 5 points in 6 games.

My last pick is Jean-Uhtred Ragnarsson-Tremblay. A seasoned veteran that will greatly help the Penalty killing. His fantastic defensive prowess will help secure wins during the season

Nicolae Antonescu is a great prospect with fantastic reflexes and a great eye for the puck and were all working great as a team and its nice having such a reliable guy on net for us on the team though hes in need of more training and coffee as were having a hard time with our defence to cover his ass when he needs the hand.
Pavel Kharlamov is doing great on the 1st line though I can say I hope he subs out so I get more time on the ice as I am eager to bust some balls and score some goals but I guess he can take the spotlight as the right wing for now break a leg out there buddy.
Young Logo hes doing well I'm getting more and more impressed with his performance on the ice as hes one of the best on the team aside from me maybe.Hes a great guy to work with as he works as a fantastic team mate showing off speed and accuracy on the ice and his since of humor in the box is a nice change from the complaints about some of our rougher games.

Look no further than the Anchorage Armada when it comes to possible contenders in the post season. The Armada are looking to make a great push for the cup before a large crop of players are possibly called up to the SHL. They'll certainly rely on their current point leader, Theo Kondos with 5 points in 4 games to hit the back of the net and assist on goals. Bork Lazer is also not someone that should be scoffed at, as he's also touting a Point per gam production 4 games in. On top of this, the Boats will definitely rely on Chimkin Tendy to be a brick wall, as he's currently second in GAA in goalies that have played more than 1 game. Looking throughout the course of the season, Anchorage will need their prospects to develop to at least replacement level. Look for center prospect Pablo Salvatici to make waves down the stretch of the season.

I'm a player on the Quebec City Citadelles. I'm pretty new here so I don't have the greatest insight into the situation, but to me it seems like we're looking pretty good. It seems like we have a lot of experienced people here in Quebec City to lead our team. I also know that the team did well last season, making the playoffs. We did pretty well in preseason. Those two facts combined should mean that we're in a pretty solid spot right now looking at this year. We have high expectations for ourselves! One of the most important players on the ice is our goalie, Mat Smith. He's our starter this season, and seemed to do fairly well in the preseason. We'll need him to keep the goose eggs on the board to give us a great shot to win. Teylora Petrov will be another big piece for our team, as one of our team leaders. The last person that I'll mention that's important to our team is our heavy handed defender, Boris Petrov. Don't get on his bad side.

The Quebec City Citadelles have loaded up this offseason through the draft, free agency, and simply by having current players progress their skills on the ice. They’ll be looking from a few specific members of the team to make an increased impact this year.

Mat Smith: Quebec’s starting goaltender is looking stronger than ever after a strong offseason, and they’ll be looking towards him to stand tall in net and keep the young team in games. Just like any good team, Quebec will be looking to improve from the net out so Mat will have to take over games.

Teylora Petrov: One of the strongest players on the team in the back end, the team is hoping Teylora can step up and play top line minutes for them. T. Petrov will likely slot in with someone like Borris Petrov or Jasper Maximov and play a strong defensive game together.

Jasper Maximov: Likely the top center on the Citadelles, the team is expecting strong offensive numbers from Maximov and will be looking for them to lead the team on the forward lines. They’re hoping to find the perfect linemates for Maximov to increase the team's offensive output.

The phenomical (not a word) phorce that is the Nevada Battleborn are a team bent on destruction - not only of the league, but the arenas as well. Three players that have paved the way in this chaos are: defenseman Tanjiro Kamado - a quick-wrisitin' son of a gun from Italy whose ideal date is scoring, his partner, defenseman Leonids Balzams - a smooth-skatin' criminal who has picked more pockets than a fussy Italian tailor, and goalie Phillip Weaver - literally a brick wall with arms, legs, skin, and enough hair to fill my clogged drain at home.

These three terrors have made the Nevada Battleborn one of the top teams in the Junior League.

"Balzy and Kammy are like that movie - have you seen it? - Pacific Rim. Where there's two people per Jager. Well, it's like those guys are in the same Jager, but they're also not, because they're in separate spots and not controlling a giant mechanical war machine, but because they're like really in sync." explained fellow teammate Rob Wright remarkably poorly.

Look for these three to make an immediate impact in the SMJHL this S56.

The Anchorage Armada are poised to make a deep run this season, with a stacked roster that boasts some of the top names of the SHL's future. As the saying goes, defense wins championships, and icing one of the strongest bluelines will always lead to success. With two-way threat Bork Lazer leading the way for the Armada, you have someone who can strike fear into the opponents hearts with a massive hit while contributing on offense as well. Scoring is very important as well though and having someone like Theo Kondos, who is tied for league lead in goals, that you can rely on to consistently provide offense is invaluable to a team. Of course none of this would matter without having a strong goalie, and Anchorage just happens to have two of them. Reigning MVP Scoochie Stratton and his protege Chimkin Tendy are an absolute brick wall tandem that can shut the door and steal games for the Armada night in and night out. If all these pieces can click, look for Anchorage to be a top team come playoff time.

Through 7 games the Raptors have been outstanding. There really isn’t much bad to say so far, everyone has been fulfilling their roles extremely well. I have high hopes for this season.
Yanno Rosejac The hot young strong new goalie on the team, what a specimen. Yanno Rosejac is an amazing locker room presence who is willing to do anything to get a head start on the competition. When a the goalie situation is in question it’s tough to know how soon you should go in on a goalie when they can be so crucial in your game. All in all, the raptors came out with a steal on grabbing @demo and I cant wait to help protect his net for years to come.
Juni Panda will beat the shit out of every single one of you
Aumy Jr is a role model to me on the blue line. Always showing up on both sides of the ice and currently our 3rd highest point leader through 7 games played. Clearly going to be our best defenseman for the season, hopefully I can fill those shoes (be it more defensively) soon enough.

There's no denying that the Quebec City Citadelles have struggled out of the gate. Where they breezed through the preseason, the start of the regular season has been rather less kind. Yet, there is reason to hope that the team could turn things around. Preseason doesn't matter. We've heard that a thousand times. But, preseason does provide at least some metric for what a team is capable of. The Citadelles might not have a team that's quite as stacked as some of the recent Four Star Cup winners, but they're not so far off as their sluggish start implies. Let's take a look at their defense: Teylora Petrov has already established himself as a top-tier SMJHL shutdown defender, especially proficient at coming away with the puck off precise stick checks. The other Petrov on the team, Boris, isn't so refined: but he's aggressive, he hits hard, and he'll drop the gloves on a whim, exactly the kind of player that could benefit the team as the season starts to get into its muddy middle. Then you have Emilia Bergman, a fantastic playmaking defenseman that's capable of leading the offense from the blue-line. Add in two-way wonderkid Jasper Maximov and new draftee Jari Heikkinen, and you have a solid corps that -- with a little development in the latter two's case -- could stand toe to toe with the best of them.

And that's without even getting into the stellar performances that Yuuto Kira Cloudera Jr is capable of, putting up nearly a point a game in the preseason, and primed to carry on that offensive showcase into the regular season. So, the Citadelles have defensive defenders, two-way defenders, and brawling defenders. With a little more chemistry and a little more time, that's going to be hard to beat.

Going into this season there is a lot of hope for my team. Personally I am a little hurt to not be drafted at all last offseason but want to use that as motivation for this season. I think our best players this year are going to be LW Tres Sombreros, Goalie Mat Smith, and  RW Kev Kevens. I think that these guys will all make a difference for us because they are the highest TPE earners on our team. Well Tres not so much but he is my player so I hope the best always. I think Mat could be one of the best goalies in the league if we can have solid defense in front of him. I think Kev is going to lead us in many offensive stats because his build is made to score and I hope Tres and him can find some chemistry to help improve both of their games. Overall I think we will do very well this season.
