Quote:Game 5 in the Four Star Cup got off to a slow start, until Newfound found the back of the net with jus over 3 minutes to go in the first with a goal from Jericho Styles. Detroit was heading to the Locker Room with 9 shots to show for their effort until Mrs. McSaves found the back of the net with 20 seconds to go. They followed it up quickly in the second with two quick goals to put the defending champs down 3-1 very early.

Half way through the period they started to put the game to bed with another quality goal, sending their goal song echoing through the stadium. Another goal with 5 minutes to go, plus a 6th at the 48 second mark capped off a solid period by the Falcons, along with their 25 shots. Heading into the third they had the game wrapped up.

Taking care of business in the second, the Falcons coasted to the win rather impressively for an elimination game. Up next was Game 6, in which they similarly dominated to a 6-2 victory putting both teams one game away from winning the Four Star Cup.

Quote:Coming into game six of the 4-Star Cup semifinals, the Nevada Battleborn are down three games to two facing elimination on the road. It's a tense must-win situation, but judging by their body language the Battleborn look ready to face this tough task.

Newfoundland gets off to a fast start with the first five shots on goal, and continues to pour on the pressure throughout the first ten minutes.

The first period ends in a scoreless draw, but the ice was definitely tilted in the Berserkers favor with a wide edge in shots of 20-6. If Nevada hopes to extend their season, they'll have to regroup during the intermission.

Having weathered the storm, Nevada comes out much stronger in the second. We're nearly half way through the contest and still awaiting the opening goal.

Shots are now 30-21 for Newfoundland and we're scoreless after two. The longer this game goes without a goal, the bigger the first one becomes.

Only 44 seconds into the third, Buck Keithley makes a beautiful move and tucks it home to put Newfoundland up by one! (Assists by Jericho Styles and AlexaDemie MiNads).

After a long drought, it appears the floodgates are now open as Ashton King makes it two-nothing Berserkers at 4:08, on the second assist of the night by AlexaDemie MiNads. (Nevada really has to buckle down now, as the next goal will be crucial).

Nevada refuses to roll over and die, as Tekkeitsertok Towtoongie makes it a one goal game to keep the Battleborn's hopes alive! The critical marker comes at 8:35 with assists to Luke Laraque and Luigi Ferraro.

All of a sudden, the goals are coming fast and furious as Ashton King strikes again at 11:51. (AlexaDemie MiNads is having an outstanding game with three assists)! Things are starting to look bleak for Nevada.

We're down to the final five minute with the score 3-1 for Newfoundland. The Battleborn are pushing hard but despite a couple of glorious scoring chances, are just unable to break through. A great effort from Nevada though, so no need to hang their heads.

For the first time in my young career, I have been able to be present for a Simulation Hockey League stream! However, I was watching the SMJHL regular season instead since I am a rookie in the minor league of the Simulation Hockey League. Now as an individual who has no clue how hockey actually works nor the rules (people are still trying to help me understand when is something a foul and when it is not), I figured that this would be the best time to try and see if I can follow along based on my prior learnings regarding the sport of hockey. I saw the Yukon Malamutes play against Maine Timber with the previous meeting between the two sides going Yukon's favour 6-4. So this should be a hype matchup between two sides that score a lot. Theodor Larsson scored very early on for Yukon. Yukon doubled the lead during a powerplay with a deep moonshot from Lucas Percy and from then on it seemed like Yukon were going to take a comfortable win! Then in the 3rd period the Timber woke up and scored via Matthew Mayhem, so we had a proper game on our hands. Unfortunately Maine left it a little bit too late and pulled the keeper (which is something you can do in hockey), but lost the puck and leading to Yukon's Shea O'Connall scoring on an open net to end the game 3-1 in Yukon's favour. Was a close game in the end and very fun!
