I watched the SMJHL draft, it was exciting seeing the players fly off the board during the first couple of picks, I was anxiously awaiting for my name to be called however It didn't seem to come too fast. I saw teams that I thought I had a good talk with come and go, my hopes were getting crushed, I really thought I would have been a first round talent but alas my dreams would be crushed with that final First Rounder not being named Erik Erikson. The second round had a similar story, I felt betrayed by many teams. Especially one that told me they would pick me up in the 2nd Round if they could, I thought I would be going there however this is a Buisness so I respect the decision. Then with a 20+ Pick the Newfoundland Berserkers had picked me. It is super fitting that the man named after a viking would go to a viking based team, match made in heaven.

I watched yesterday's live simulation, which showed 5 live games, including my own Great Falls Grizzlies facing off against the Kelowna Knights. The live simulation seems to have had people work on it since I left and rejoined the league, because it doesn't look like rounded squares exchanging the biggest, blackest pizza you've ever seen anymore - there's players, and they actually have little sticks next to their body! The first two periods of the game were a goalies' show, with both goalies preserving a clean sheet on their respective sides, even if Kelowna's Sea Jebus was more busy than Great Falls' C.J. Sparks. The tie was broken when our first line finally broke down the Knights' defensive structure, giving us goals by Kyle Latreille and Pork Tenderloin in quick succession. Petr Vrana answered back for Kelowna, but the rest of the game was a formality, and Kyle's... brother? Father? We're still unsure, but Kyle's relative, Andre Latreille, scored the insurance goal in an empty net. I do enjoy seeing live simulations of the games, but I also understand how time-consuming they are for simmers, so having most games being quick simmed works better for the league. (218 words)

7. I watched a stream the other day. I'll admit I didn't watch the whole thing, but I was pretty interested in how the Whalers would do against the Anchorage Armada in the actual live game where they show the cartoon players on the ice. It was pretty interesting to be honest, I have never played FHM so I didn't know what to expect. I've played games like Football manager before and they have a really detailed match sim engine, so I was curious if it would look similar. It really didn't. But thats ok, because it got the job done. The first thing I noticed was that the Vancouver home ice was green. I immediately thought "Why? and how?" LOL. I didn't expect there to be green ice. Maybe they used food coloring to really show that the color green is a part of the Whalers identity. Seeing the green ice made the stream memorable and also made me curious if any other teams have interesting design choices like that. What kept me around the stream, though, was watching our team absolutely beat down the Armada. I think it was like 9 to nothing. I enjoyed watching Ryan Quintana Green fly around the ice and provide a couple of assists to help the Whalers cause. Seeing our team succeed on home green ice was pretty cool!

7. The first game of stream day #14 saw the Quebec City Citadels play the St. Louis Scarecrows. St. Louis scored a goal at around the five minute mark, QCC answered at around the 18 minute mark. The second period saw the reverse, a QCC goal at the 5 minute mark which was answered by STL around 5 minutes later. The period saw five minor penalties, but the PP were all unsuccessful. The third period was scoreless. STL would win the shootout, which was very difficult to watch on the stream, but I think they scored three times in four tries while QCC only scored twice.
The second game was Detroit and Anchorage. The final was 6-5 which also went to a shootout. Anchorage had a 5-3 lead which they blew.
The third game saw the Maine Timber go to Vancouver to play the Whalers. Vancouver plays their games on a green surface, not sure when they started making green ice.
