WHO ARE THESE TASKS FOR? S63 SMJHL Rookies (S64 SHL Draftees, AKA anyone with "(S64)" next to their player name)

TO CLAIM TASKS: Make a post in this thread and link each task you completed (please keep all claims you are making at the same time in a single post). Afterward, a member of the Recruitment Team will come by and grade each task to verify if the task is complete and award site money.

Once a recruitment member has edited your post (you will be notified via a ping on the site), please create a separate post in the thread for any additional tasks completed, as well as link any previous claims you have made.

PAYOUT:
- $1,000,000 per task completed
- $1,000,000 bonus for completing all tasks

To claim this task, find a TPE claim where your name is listed with a TPE value next to your name. Then, right click on the post number in the top right corner of the post, then choose "Copy link address." Afterward, paste the link in your claim post.

5. Create a graphic and post in the weekly submissions forum of the graphics thread found HERE

- Please put that this graphic is a "Rookie Task Graphic" in the title of the thread. Every graphic that is submitted as a rookie task graphic will receive a base payout equivalent to a grade of .5 / 5 on the graphics grading scale for 125k. With the 1M received for doing this task we hope this mitigates that payout and also makes things much easier on the graphics team. By labeling it a "Rookie Task Graphic" as well, you will not use your 1st-time graphic bonus.

NOTE: If you do not label the graphic with "Rookie Task Graphic," then your post will be submitted to normal grading guidelines and will use up your 1st-time graphic bonus.

      - Write 150 words about the games that happened during the stream

      - Create a 2-min podcast about the stream

      - Create a graphic about your favorite part of the stream ( please post the graphic in the rookie task claim thread and not as a graphics submission)

8. Complete the Rookie Survey (post that you completed it and we will verify with the rookie mentor head that it is complete for credit)

    - As recreates can not complete the rookie survey we simply ask them to link a player page from a past player for this task instead

Grading will be done when it's best available to the recruitment team members who are assigned that week and will not always be at the same time weekly, so please be patient if grading is not done right away.

7. To be honest, I just watched a stream for the first time and as someone that has no clue of Ice Hockey it was confusing AF. There are a lot of stats, which I really like! and I really like the goal music that every team has. I'm just gonna say this now, I'm gonna have "Timber - Ke$ha" stuck in my head for the day and for sure everytime I watch one of the streams. Whoever picked that song is an evil genius. Especially rough was the Timber vs Knights game that ended 5-6, towards the end of the game that song was stuck in my head. I can't wait to get stuck in all the Data the sim proviedes, will be a lot of fun for a Data guy like myself! I was rooting for my ISFL buddies Team Anaheim but the games did not go very well for them. They lost 2/3 games.

7. I think the most interesting part of the S63 SHL draft was the fact we saw so much diversity in picks. Some high TPE user falling and some others rising. Jess being picked at 1OA wasn't a surprise to anyone, but BadWolf dropping to 5th to Toronto was very surprising along with Rolf Kekkonen falling to 2nd round even though being one of the highest TPE users in the draft. I guess GMs do value other stuff then TPE and Bank. One of the most interesting rises in the draft boards must have been Tim Riggins for the Montreal Patriots. I doubt many people saw that draft pick coming, but Montreal must value their locker room presence a lot.
Having a small draft class came with its draw backs as well. Already in later half of 2nd round we saw teams passing on picks, and only team that kept picking was the Buffalo Stampedes.

7. I started by watching the S62 4 star cup finals game 4, and I think it was a great introduction to the simulations in general. I found it a bit hard at first to follow the actual gameplay, especially things like hits and passes. The Armada came out strong offensively, generating a ton of shots on goal, but the Berserkers weathered the storm. Newfoundland drew first blood inside the last minute of the second period with only 16 shots on goal compared to Anchorage's 26. It's surprising how slanted the ice seems to be in this game, the puck has stayed inside the Anchorage zone for what feels like the entire game.

In the third period, Anchorage answers back to tie in the fifth minute, only to lose the lead again in the 14th minute. The Berserkers asserted themselves in the last three minutes, scoring another two goals to put them up 4-1 over the Armada. While the Armada did rally for another goal, there simply wasn't enough time on the clock for them to mount a comeback effort.

Since I'm brand new, I thought I'd get a feel for what to expect by watching the S62 SMJHL regular season's first day stream. In the opening game, Quebec City and Anchorage started off with a bang when the Armada got the opening goal in the first period. They would go on to extend their lead by two more goals in the second, and win the game with a final score of 4-2, despite being outshot by Quebec 44-31. Dominik Tretyak made 42 saves, getting only the third star with a save percentage of .955 in his first win of the season.

Other games included Maine's 4-1 victory over Nevada, Colorado's 4-1 victory over Great Falls, and a thrilling Vancouver comeback to force a shootout against Carolina and get the win.

Overall, it was interesting to see the way the stream worked, playing out several games over the course of a couple hours. It was really hard to track individual players, which was disappointing, but the overall experience was really cool, and I look forward to seeing my player’s name racking up saves in the near future!
