Well, the Great Falls Grizzlies have made the playoffs and are ready to take on the big bad NBB. The guys in the locker room are excited to be here and although lots of people don't think we deserve to be here, we're here to prove them all wrong and make a splash. Alot of the guys have been preparing for the post season for weeks in preparation of the biggest games of their young careers. Kavanagh in goal for example has locked in his pre-game routine of a spaghetti with red sauce meal followed up by a red bull before hitting the locker room and suiting up. Great Falls will surely have their hands full with the top line talent of the NBB but our defense core is up for the challenge. The defense have saved their legs during the remaining week of the season in preparation for the battle with the Battleborn. Looking forward to seeing how the series unfolds as well as the remaining matchups in the SMJHL playoffs!

Reaching the playoffs and winning it all is the penultimate goal of every hockey player. If it isn't, then hockey simply isn't for you. With such high expectations and lofty goals being set for this time, the preparation for such an event must match the level of performance you hope to attain. In Anchorage, there's a few ways we all prepare for the playoffs to ensure our performance can lead to success.

First, our GM Gabe personally gives every player foot rubs after every game. He just loves working for us and massaging our feet, and it really gets the blood flowing. He does a great job, you'd think he could do it as a full time career instead of managing a hockey team. For some reason he always records doing it, maybe it's going on TikTok live or something? Probably just some sort of side channel gig, nothing nefarious I'm sure.

Second, nutrition. We all make sure we get plenty of food and nutrients and our catering crew does a fantastic job. We have a guy named Liver King who gives us these insane high protein diets. We all spend a couple hours on the toilet daily, but it's the price to pay to get swole. Raw eggs, raw meat, we just inhale it all. Or at least everyone says they do it too, they seem to have always eaten before me whenever we get to the cafeteria. And then I always get called away as soon as I finish for mandatory drug checks. Does everyone get tested daily? It's a bit much man.

Well,  Not just did the Vancouver Whalers win a spot in the playoffs, they also won a first round bye. Which gave us plenty of time to set up our dodgeball tournament. Dodgeball between  high level athletes who are also super completive is definitely   a team building exercise. Of course Scott Seitz broke his nose and Colt Fox has a sprained spleen which we hope will heal in time for the second round of these playoffs. Also when you think about it dodgeball is just hockey without ice. The point of dodgeball is to hit someone as hard  you can and not get hit, the purpose of hockey is to hit someone as hard as you can and not get hit. If you can dodge a six foot three two hundred and sixty pound right defenseman, you can dodge a ball.

So that’s how the Whalers prepared for the playoffs. Grit makes diamonds and all that stuff.

Though me and the knights didn't make the playoffs, we Tried our best and we will prevail next season for sure. my player will definitely be training to become stronger and better. he will spend most of his off-season in the gym and training. He’s gonna also be spending lots of time with friends and family making up for lost time during the season. He would also love to travel all over the world and seeing things he’s never seen before. He would love to go to Paris and stand on the top of the Eiffel Tower. All while doing this though, he will still be thinking of the upcoming season and what will be in store for him. He hopes he can build his skills and become a way better player and score more goals. He noticed he had lots of hits in his rookie season, so he works also like to build that number up as well. All in all, he’s going to make the best of this off season.

IStir MyPudding prepped for the playoffs by doing what he does best: vigorously stirring pudding. MyPudding probably ate more cups of pudding in the weeks leading up to the playoffs than he has through any similar stretch of time at any point of his life. He was also more generous with giving out his pudding cups to anyone willing to share in the stirring ritual. All you people who do NOT stir your pudding before digging in can get your own pudding. The folks at Costco and other bulk sellers are starting to know the names of MyPudding’s nutritional staff from the sheer number of pudding they buy. They are starting to reach out to the manufacturers and distributors about just cutting out the middle man and having pallets of the stuff shipped straight to MyPudding’s house. There has also been talk of hiring up a staff and getting a professional kitchen to just manufacture it right there in Nevada!

The Great Falls Grizzlies came into the final week of the regular season with exactly one goal: Finish with a better record than Detroit to avoid the round one match against the Battleborn. Overall we played our hearts out, I even had a goal in our final game of the regular season which is rare for a defensive defenseman, but we fell just short and came face to face with the #1 ranked Battleborn. The team had some morale, our wins came against teams that were top 5 in the league in the few that we actually came out on top of, so there was a sense that we had a shot. Well...

Game one was close.
Game two looked awful on paper, but we actually led at one point and only choked it away in the late 3rd period.
Then we won a game.

That's when the wheels absolutely fell off. We lost by absolutely staggering margins twice and the dream was dead. Our spirits were bruised, but our hope for tomorrow remains strong. Next season will be a new story, one where the Grizzlies find a new hope.

With all the spare time, Rocky plans to explore the wilderness and natural beauty that Kelowna offers. His first move is to play about 15 rounds of golf to settle the rage boiling within. Afterwards, he's going to spend some time fishing and waterskiing with the rest of the gang– it's important to get some bonding time in. He's also above drinking age minimum in BC so obviously it's time to go for a wine and cider tasting, or maybe a little more than a tasting considering his circumstances. His last stop in Kelowna is exploring the downtown area and hopefully not running into any angry fans. Afterwards, he's scheduled a week long trip back home to Nebraska to visit his family who he's missed dearly. When he comes back, it's time to start practicing again and getting ready for the next season because, frankly, the grind never stops, especially for Rocky who's hoping to make the US U20 team and get drafted as high as possible. He wants to show scouts that he deserves this chance!

My team prepared for the playoffs by firstly my GM reminding everyone including me to make sure to get their updates in last week. You would be surprised how much a little nudge or reminder can really help someone to their updates. I think generally the team is in good spirits going into this. Everyone seems to be happy and ready to go. We want to keep loose for this and not get too much not our heads. Keeping into the right mental state and seeing it as almost another game can be the best thing for the person. Some people like to get really hyped up and use it as an excuse in order to motivate themselves which can also help in trying to be the best you can for the game. The problem is for a lot of people that also creates nerves and if you are nervous you do not play how you should be playing. I know we can win this. We did win last year even though I was not there, but they had a good rookie class and I think I have helped in that. (191word)

Much to my surprise, we've really doubled down on kissing practice. And, I gotta say: Nice. It really does wonders for the morale when the boys are really getting in there and giving their all, just the whole vibe in the locker room is on another level. That kind of energy is absolutely the kind of thing that will give us an edge over the competition. Also, as the 2021 and 2022 Canva Certified Kissing King of Canada, I have nothing but approval for this method and am truly grateful to be able to offer my experience in some capacity, even in my rookie season with the Timber. I may not play the best, but I damn sure kiss the best. As my adoptive father, Mats Sundin, used to say to me when I was a young lad, furiously beating his meat for the first time: "Massor av pussar gör att pojkarna aldrig missar."

Under the guidance of their passionate coach, Coach Sve7en, the Kraken began their preparations with a series of rigorous training sessions. Each morning, the players arrived at the rink, lacing up their skates with determination etched across their faces. They pushed their bodies to the limit, honing their skills and fine-tuning their strategies to ensure they were fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

Preparation wasn't limited to the physical aspect alone. The Kraken recognized the importance of mental strength and unity within the team. Coach Sve7en organized team-building exercises to foster trust and camaraderie among the players. They engaged in activities like paintball, where they strategized together, boosting their communication skills and reinforcing the bonds that held them as a unit.

In addition to their training routines, the Kraken thoroughly analyzed the game footage of their upcoming opponents, the Detroit Falcons. Coach S7even meticulously studied the Falcons' playing style, identifying their strengths and weaknesses. He devised intricate game plans, working closely with his assistant coaches to craft strategies that would exploit the Falcons' vulnerabilities.

Well, the timing is a tad unfortunate considering we went down already, but I think we did our best to prepare for the games. Things didn't go the way we wanted them to go. It always sucks when it happens but that's just how it is. I genuinely don't think there was much else to do, it really was a matter of luck (or a lack thereof).

I guess we'll take the time to focus on next season. See who we're able to keep, who we'll bring along for the next ride and see if the dices fall the way they should. The end is not the end like that Strokes song, you know? I do think I'll have to work harder next season though, to get the whole thing into a rhythm to see if there's a chance I can be more helpful.

The St. Louis Scarecrows prepared for playoffs by going deep into method acting and becoming their namesake. Every player was assigned a field of corn, they were to go to the field at 4am, where they would promptly be tied to a wooden stake as a scarecrow would. They would stay there until 9am, shooing away any birds that tried to eat the corn. They would be give a break until 1pm, where they would then be tied back to the post until 8pm. At least in theory, that was meant to happen. In reality, they were tied to the posts at 6am. By 8am, local residents were up in arms over the display. They were upset because what was meant to be a team building and playoff preparedness exercise to them looked like a mockery of a certain religion. The teams were then taken off the cross, as the confusion was explained to the residents. Locals were quoted as saying "good wood was used for this stunt."

The Nevada Battleborn are not new to the playoffs and they finished atop of the league standings so I think that they are fine to prepare themselves. We have great managers on the team that keep us motivated and intrigued for the season. They also send us reminders on certain things to make sure we are tracking to it so we can be at the top top of the league. We are one of those teams that just enjoy being together and earning all at once and like to see us succeed together. The team likes to hangout a ton and it helps a lot for team building which in turns just helps with the overall success for the team and it's clear that it shows how well we are doing. I joined the team rather late in the season but with how well the team vibes together I felt part of the team as soon as I got there and got a team shout out for my first point I earned on the team and things like that are why it stands out and also why the team is doing as well as they are.
