16. Goals
Even though my career is still in its early stages, I've already started thinking about what I'd like to achieve, both on and off the ice, in the world of the SHL. Here are some of my goals: Career Goals: - Becoming a Consistent Contributor: I intend to work out as one of the league's most dependable two-way centers, whether through the dominance of faceoffs, setting up teammates or locking up an area of defence; I aim to be the Swiss army knife of a team where a GM can rely on me in any situation of the game. - Win Multiple Cups for SMJHL & in SHL (eventually), ultimate team achievement; I want to help build a winning culture wherever I land in my career - SHL & SMJHL All-Star Appearances: Being recognized as one of the best at my position is a personal milestone I hope to achieve multiple times in my career - HOF Induction: Tho a long-term goal, I strive to develop a career worthy of Hall of Fame recognition, both on and off the ice. Contributing on both ends of the rice, racking up accolades, and leaving a legacy. Also, helping out and being a significant contributor to the league as much as possible. Site Goals: - Become more involved: I am currently in 4 different sim leagues and busy myself on a personal level. Eventually, I would like to become more engaged with SHL as a whole and contribute in ways such as potentially scouting, maybe assistant GMs, and maybe even contributing more in the media sphere of the site Code: 261 Words

S79 SMJHL Milestones Total TPE: 3 1. Fan Appreciation Day There are no better fans in the J than the rabid diehard fans in St. Louis. They come out to games and get loud through thick and thin and help contribute to the home ice advantage that the Scarecrows enjoyed this season. Because of this the Scarecrows organization is eager to show their appreciation to the fans. This season’s fan appreciation night is to honor both the fans and one of the Scarecrow’s star players. Every fan that comes through the gates gets a Louis Belanger bobblehead. This is not just your run of the mill hockey player bobblehead. Louis’ oversized head is bobbling up and down on the body of a scarecrow hanging up on a post wearing a Belanger Scarecrows jersey. A straw hat sits atop Louis’ head instead of a hockey helmet. A great collector’s item for all of the Scarecrows faithful! Word Count: 145 7. Winner Winner Chicken The Four Star Cup is an extremely prestigious and sought after trophy that takes an unbelievable amount of sacrifice, grit, toughness, skill, and determination to lift over your head. Every player in the Juniors is giving the playoff tournament everything they have in order to get their name engraved on the Cup. However, despite the best efforts from every player on every team, only one team can win when it is all said and done. This year the last team standing was the Quebec City Citadels. The Citadels capped off an incredible regular season with an incredible playoff run. You never know what is going to happen when the sixteen teams in this league enter the playoffs. Truly anything can happen as different teams get hot and underdogs begin to silence their critics. However, I think this year the safe money was being bet on the first seed Citadels to win the whole tournament. How did the Citadels gain the first seed in the tournament and a first round matchup versus the lackluster Vancouver Whalers team? The Quebec City Citadels’ regular season performance was nothing short of dominant. Out of the 66 regular season games played they boasted a staggering 46 win, 18 loss, and 2 OT loss record, resulting in 94 points on the table. They tied the Newfoundland Berserkers, who were also an incredible team this year, in points but what truly set them apart was their goal differential of +126. Stingy defense, great goalkeeping, and an unstoppable offense made them the best team in the league this season, hands down. The team had two players with over 100 points at the end of the season including leaguewide points leader Cristoforo Roccamontepiano. Six of the top ten players in +/- this season were Quebec City players. Four of the top five players with the most hits this season were Quebec City players. They truly dominated every aspect of the game and it was no surprise to see them win the championship. I don’t think anyone around the league would argue that they didn’t earn it. Word Count: 347 12. On the Radar There are many exciting players in this year’s SHL draft that it will be hard for teams to determine who will be the best fit on their roster with so many attractive choices. One player that is sure to be on many team’s radars is the St. Louis Scarecrows winger Boogan McGillicuddy. Boogan was a player that fell to the third round of the SMJHL draft but was given a spot on the top line in St. Louis. He made the most of this opportunity by amassing 26 goals and 48 assists in his rookie season, totaling in 74 points, second most on the team. He logged minutes both on the power play, tallying 24 PP points, and on the penalty kill where he scored 3 short handed goals and a short handed assist. Boogan also logged 155 hits. Boogan is a dynamic player who combines speed, strength, physicality, and skill. He stepped into a power forward role and executed this role well. He has a hard, accurate shot, can handle the puck well, and has solid ability to gain separation from the defense and find himself in the right spots of the ice to make offensive contributions. He is strong, fast, and athletic. Where Boogan could improve upon most is his defensive game. He is physical and can rack up hits but he needs a more well rounded defensive skillset if he wants to do well matching up with the SHL’s best players. Look for him to make strides in this area of his game. Everything considered Boogan would be a great addition to most of the organizations in the SHL and has shown a lot of promise early in his career. I would not expect him to fall as low in the SHL draft as he did in the SMJHL draft. Word Count: 303 Total Word Count: 795

Code: 18. Milestones +3 TPE for milestones Code: 2. Looking Towards the Future I think this offseason is very important for us to raise the level of the team. We have several weak positions that are costing us victories in the context of the season. We should definitely improve our defense so that we can help our goalkeeper more. We are conceding too many goals. In general, our offense is okay, because if you look at the statistics, we are not such a bad team in terms of goals scored. I hope that this draft ceremony will be exciting and very successful for us. Of course, the current players also need to improve their game to play better. [105 words] Code: 3. Secret Plans We haven't talked about it yet, but I think we'll prepare even harder for next season than we did this one. Maybe we need to use some Eastern methods of endurance training, including dragging truck tires on ice. That's definitely not going to happen, but it would be something new and could give the season a real boost at a time when other teams are already starting to get tired. We need to practice all the things we can, without doing anything illegal, because that will only bring us down. I'm sure the coaches will come up with a new method for us to practice to improve our game. [109 words] Code: 15. Charity Drive I have been taught since childhood that it is necessary to help those who need it. And as the years have passed, I have increasingly understood that it is necessary, because when I look at the same children who have not been successful in life, my heart hurts a lot and I want to help. In my homeland, Latvia, in recent years, I have already organized charity hockey games, where all the proceeds were directed to supporting children. I have also promised here that I could organize a charity hockey match and donate all the proceeds to children in Latvia. Especially to children with disabilities. I also actively try to support Ukrainians who need it. Of course, all these activities are carried out to the limit, because my financial situation is not infinite either, so I invite everyone to get involved and help support anything and anywhere, it can be shelter animals, sick children, and just as well people fleeing war. [161 word] Code: 8. An Alternate Timeline This is definitely an interesting question to discuss. A deep analysis would be needed to determine the team I would fit in the most, but I will go by my feelings. Of course, it would be the best to be on the champion team in Quebec, but I don't see a place for myself there. The team has a very good defense and offense line that would be difficult for me to compete with, and I prefer to spend more time on the ice than on the bench with the reserves. This gives me more confidence that I am really needed by the team. In addition, the uniform of that team would definitely not suit me. If I were to take the uniforms, I would definitely want to wear the Detroit team's uniforms, I like the design and it would definitely suit me. I think that I would also be able to help the Detroit team with my loose play, because the team needed additional help on defense in the playoffs. In addition, I could also help the forwards on the defensive line with my play. And considering that time passes and my experience also increases, I could definitely decide the fate of several matches and help win. [208 words] Code: 16. Goals My career has just begun, but I already know exactly what I want to achieve. I definitely want to win the team cup, both at the junior and adult levels. I also definitely want to help the national team fight for the title, which was quite realistic a couple of seasons ago. The older I get, the more I will definitely have to get involved in teaching young people. I would like to engage in coaching after my career ends and give young hockey players the necessary push so that they can develop their skills even better. While I am a hockey player, I will do what I do best - play hockey and get into the Hall of Fame. [119 words] TOTAL 16/16

12. Brett McMann is a 6’2, 210lbs center from Canada looking to make a name for himself in the SMJHL. The Power Forward possesses a lot of speed, physicality, and puck handling on both ends of the ice. McMann is a treat for SMJHL GMs as he has been open about playing for one team and one team only. He hopes and wishes to play for the same team who drafts him throughout his enter SMJHL career before hopefully entering the SHL in later seasons to come. McMann is and has only ever been a team player, making sure his teammates are ready to go each night, going out of his way to get whatever they may need. For SHL GMs, be sure to keep an eye on his activity as he has been known to slack on his progression without the right motivation. Although, with the right motivation this could be a draft gem. McCann is an extremely loyal player and wants to build the relationships and friendships with fellow teammates in order to feel like he belongs where he is.
13. Superstitions are definitely a common topic in the world of hockey, whether that be wearing the same socks every game, having the same warm up, or even the same pre game ritual in order to be ready for puck drop. Brett McMann has not played a single game yet in the SMJHL, but when he gets his shot, his biggest superstition is the food he eats before a game. Growing up in a lower class family he would often be hungry before games due to lack of nutrition in his household. So, now before every game McMann eats more than the average human, having a four course meal before every game 2 hours in advance. This gives his body enough time to digest, get to the rink, use the team bathroom, and move around before being game ready every time. Another superstition for McMann is taping his shin pads before each game. Brett needs to have three different spots on his shin pads taped or else he feels his legs aren’t as explosive as they should be. An exact three loops around each part of his shin pad make him feel game ready and able to perform at the highest level. 14. Brett McMann enters this off-season new to the league. After spending a lot of time throughout his minor hockey career bouncing league to league, the young centerman has finally found his spot in the SHL, and has decided to opt in for the upcoming SMJHL draft. Obviously as an unknown name, this off-season has not been a quiet one for him, with consistent training sessions and proper meal prep, McMann is doing his best to be physical ready to enter the draft. Family and Friends are the last thing on his mind as he has been vocal to them about it, once drafted and in a more comfortable situation the young Center will be more than happy to spend time with his loved ones. SMJHL scouts have slowly started to reach out which gives Brett a lot of hope, no matter which team may draft him, he will be happy to spend his time with the organization that trusts him enough on draft day. 15. Brett McMann loves giving back to his community and especially the youth who love learning the game of hockey. Through a local organization in his hometown community, McMann spends time with orphan children once a week and teaches them how to play the game of hockey. Obviously ice time is expensive, so McMann runs a charity of his own that takes donations to buy ice time at the local arena. McMann teaches the children how to skate, puck handle, pass, and shoot the puck to many who have never worn skates before. He feels extremely happy doing this as for one he is giving back to his community, but also he is teaching children the biggest thing he loves, the game of hockey. McMann often spends time with the children afterwards playing other games and feeling like a big brother or almost as a parent to most who don’t have that opportunity. 16. Goals for myself include being a consistent earner and finally breaking my own curse of not making the SHL. While I have made the SHL with my two past players, I have never fully bought out to their careers, going IA early or just retiring fully. Goals for McMann is to some day make the SHL and find a team that he can call his home. Brett wants to improve his game as being a two way Power Forward, and to have one of if not the best plus minus in the league while being a top hitter and forechecker. McMann is a not a player who strives for points, but one that wants to make his team better by not allowing the opposition to score while he is on the ice. Long term goals include winning a Cup, whether that be the SMJHL or SHL, because let’s face it, that’s everyone’s goal here.

1. Fan Appreciation Day
The Detroit Falcons trusted this rookie, Twinkle Toes to design something to give back to their fans on fan appreciation Day. Given full authority with no oversight Twinkle came up with a brilliant idea, the perfect gift, a real life Falcon. The stress of procurement, storage, handling and caring for thousands of Falcons has had an impact on Twinkle. They look about a decade older and any hair they have left is scraggly and unkempt. Twinkle just needs to last until the fan appreciation day which will be a mid-season against the St. Louis Scarecrows. They can clearly picture the faces of St. Louis when they look up and see thousands of Falcons flying around and sopping down on them. It'll be worth it. (124) 2 TPE 2. Looking Towards the Future Many great players have graduated and moved on from Detroit this year leaving a void that they hope the SMJHL draft can fix. Here's their current roster: Forwards: C - Jimbob Ghostkeeper 425 TPE S79 C - Jeffery Bjelland 425 TPE S78 RW - Quazon Brosonchi 350 TPE S80 C - Bas O'Bigbers Jr. 350 TPE S78 RW - Ivan Volchenkov 155 TPE S80 LW - Jouni Paarma 155 TPE S79 Defensemen: RD - Elliot Anderson 424 TPES78 RD - Maverick Reynolds 421 TPE S78 RD - Twinkle Toes 350 TPE S80 Goalies: Mark Andrew Flower 297 TPE S78 Lucas Dill 217 TPE S80 We'll start from the net out. While Detroit has two goalies signed both are under 300 TPE. While drafting a new goalie is not high on the priority list for Detroit and they iare likely comfortable starting the season starting with the goalies they have. On defense, Detroit has a strong first pair of Anderson and Reynolds that are within a few points of the TPE cap. The remaining defender Toes has reached 350 TPE and appears ready to hold down the second pair. With only 3 defensemen signed Detroit will likely be targeting a future top 4 D. Filling the bottom pairing will likely have to wait until later in the draft or with IFAs With six forwards under contract for the next year Detroit needs three more for a full roster. However, two of the forwards are sitting at 155 TPE which weakens the overall forward group. This will be Detroit's priority, as the current second line won't be able to hold their own as they are now. Getting two early forward picks would really help solidify the second line and keep Detroit competitive in the upcoming season. In conclusion, while Detroit has their goalie situation handled next season, there are sizeable holes in front of them. Their GM has a big job ahead of them. (313) 6 TPE 3. Secret Plans They're not secret plans if you announce them right? Well Detroit's is so dastardly it won't even matter. They recently bought a new air compressor and some industrial strength duct tape. The Detroit's purchasing department is confused and angered that they had to procure XXXXXXXXXXXXL airtight goalie jerseys which had to be custom made. But it'll be worth it after they win the cup. The plan is to drape these jerseys over the Detroit Goalies, tape up all the openings like the ankles, waist, wrists and neck, then inflate them with the air compressor. Turning their goalies into bubble boys will ensure they cover the entire net and prevent the other team from scoring. Look forward to a lot of shutouts! (121) 2 TPE 4. Funtimes Twinkle was clearly the most organized of the group (or just the smallest rookie) since after being tasked with the fan appreciation day they were asked to do a team building day. So the Detroit Falcons will be going on a multi-day bird watching hike. The goal? To take the Falcons into the wild to find real Falcons in the wild. Tinkle figured there should only be one kind of meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner, hotdogs. Twinkle has his Costco card ready to go and you might just catch him with a cart full of hotdogs and buns the day before the hike. And if you get a panicked call from a Detroit Falcon over the next few days please pick up. Things might have gone terribly wrong. (129) 2 TPE 12. On the Radar Prospect Twinkle Toes is an interesting case. They have loaded up on offensive as a defender and left their defensive stats behind. A team drafting them is getting a one way defenseman, almost a forward. This could be attractive to team's needing a future powerplay quarterback. Off the ice is a different story, Twinkle has been seen purchasing large amounts of Falcons and hot dogs. This leads this reporter to question Toes' mental stability. He could crack under the pressure and become a crazy Falcon Dad living off grid in no time. Any team that drafts Twinkle Toes may want to consider adding Falcon storage to their facilities. IIHF Federation Head IIHF GM
For fan appreciation day this year, the Detroit Falcons fortunately gave me the privilege of deciding what the fans will get. If you don’t know me well yet, I’ve always been one to vouch for realism and authenticity. It is for these reasons that each fan in attendance on Fan Appreciation Day will receive their very own Falcon. Do not be alarmed! Each Falcon comes with its own foot leash and arm pad so that your Falcon can watch the game alongside you, unable to fly away. Will this giveaway be dangerous? This depends on how good you are at training wild birds. Hopefully every fan is a quick learner. We think the world of our fans in their innate intelligence levels which is why we’ve decided that they can handle it. Children will also receive a full grown Falcon, because excluding them will be mean and the children would cry all game long, probably.
(155 - 3 TPE) Our secret plan this year is to give all of our fans real life Falcons. This will help the Falcons gain home field advantage wherever there is even a single Detroit Falcons fan in attendance. These birds screech and can be trained to attack opposing fans. This will be very distracting to the opposition, who will be enamoured by our Falcons’ melodic screeching noises. Our opponents will also be filled with concern for their fans who may or may not be safe. No matter which way you cut it, giving all of our fans real life Falcons will ensure victory. (100 - 2 TPE) Wow, I have also been designated as our team’s official Fun Time Director! How stupendous! What bonds Detroit Falcons fans together better than anything? Falcon training sessions, of course! Bring in your real life Falcon that you received at Fan Appreciation Day and teach it how to peck opposing fans to smithereens. There is nothing more joyous than a scarecrow having its fake eyes popped out whilst cheering gleefully with a hundred of your new best friends. Man, we really are getting a lot out of these live birds! They are the gift that keeps on giving (and pooping, presumably). (100 - 2 TPE) The best part of Falcons history was the day we gave every fan a real life Falcon. Just kidding. Looking back into Detroit Falcons’ history, we see that historically we’ve had a lot of turnover in the GM department. Perhaps it was more of a league trend, but in the S20s alone, the Falcons had 7 different GMs. While the chart I’m looking at is quite outdated, it looks like WannabeFinn had the longest tenure as Falcons GM with eight seasons at the helm. The most mysterious part of the Falcons’ GM history is that seasons one through four are simply indicated as a question mark. Who was this mystery GM? What an interesting interview that would be. (118 - 2 TPE) For the “What’s in a Name” prompt, I will give everyone a brief introduction into the name of my player, Quazon Brosonchi (pronounced Kwah-Zon Broh-Sahn-Chee). The history here doesn’t have very much depth, but alas here it is. When I was probably 8 or 9 years old, I played a game called Sims Online where I got a job helping someone who ran a mid level casino. My name was Quazon. I think this was a name that was a result of the “randomize” button, but I can’t totally remember. Alas, here we are to this day, naming people Quazon. Brosonchi also has a rich history. I had already used Quazon with my name Lord of the Rings Online character, and in creating my second character to play with my friend, I simply put together three sounds that sounded good together - bro, sahn, and chi. Quazon Brosonchi has a certain ring to it. It’s a name for the SHL history books. (161 - 3 TPE) Reporting to you live from the S80 draft, we will be discussing right winger Quazon Brosonchi. He is projected to go higher than he did for the SMJHL draft, where he flew under the radar and went at the 27th overall pick to the Detroit Falcons. Quazon has been working relentlessly to increase his stock, becoming “coach” of the Detroit Falcons, and IIHF head of Team Ireland. He has also been diligently increasing his abilities, participating in every opportunity to both gain his skill sets and his bank account balance. On the ice, Quazon Brosonchi really performed during his rookie SMJHL season. Going for a speed, balance, and shot accuracy build, Quazon netted himself 32 goals and 27 assists for 59 points, which was good enough for fourth on his team even with lower TPE than many other players.Clearly Quazon Brosonchi has room to grow and already has a solid foundation. 2. Looking Forward (268 words, 5 TPE):
After having having a year in Kelowna where we didn't have a ton of seasonal success, our team is looking to coming strong for the next season. Coming off some pretty strong rookie performances from the likes of Mel Goulla, Dirk Dienhart, and Lee King, the Kelowna knights will be looking to lean on players like that to have strong sophomore seasons. Interestingly enough, Kelowna's defensive side of the game wasn't terrible, but their offense was second worst in the league, which was to be expected with the heavy use of rookies this season. With those rookies coming back with a year of experience under their belt, we hope to take a bigger step in the offensive side of the game, providing more goal support for the team. If we improve a little on the defensive side of the game and take a large step forward offensively, we should be able to take a big step in the standings. So because offense was the real crux of our issues this season on Kelowna, that should be the goal for what our players should work on in the off season. I think the future is looking bright in Kelowna and we have a lot to prove as a team. After the season before this one, having been so close to winning it all, the desire for the Kelowna Knights to get back to the finals and have a chance at a championship is high. With a strong group of players who are only improving for next season, I think it's possible we could see it sooner rather than later 4. Fun times (190 word 3TPE): So it's time for the team to have some fun! After an early exit in the playoffs, we have to make sure everyone on the team has a good time, but also make sure we do activities that bring the team closer together. What would be a perfect activity for such a task you might ask? That's the trick, there isn't one. So first thing to is ask around the team and find some common interests among the team, that way we can ensure everyone is having a good time with the activity we choose. But... in a shocking turn of events, it seems the team had such vastly different interests.. it was hard to find an activity good for all of them.. so what did the Rookie Mel decide? They're going on a team camping trip.. Is everyone gonna love it? no, but it'll be a great way for people to take a step away from all things hockey and focus on their teammates, get to know them better, have a good time at the beach. Plus... who doesn't love a good cheat day with smores around a campfire 7. Winner Winner chicken dinner (253 words 5TPE): Quebec City ended up wining the cup. to little surprise as they were the favorite heading into the playoffs. Coming in with a record of 46-18-2 they lead the league in one of the most important stats, Goal differential. With a staggering +126 goal diff, they were poised to go on a big playoff run. no only were they the second strongest offensive team in the league, with 340 goals for, they were also the second strongest defensive team in the league with 214 goal against. A team, when good at both sides of the ice will always be dangerous in the playoffs. Lead by their MVP Cristoforo Roccamontepiano, who had 24 points in 21 playoff games, they were able to come home with a cup, but it's also important to point out the goaltending performance they got in the playoffs, with QCCBOT4 giving they a SV% of 0.920. This team is the measuring stick of how to win a championship. Strong offense while not giving up a lot of goals. No matter how good your offense is, it's hard to win games when you're giving up more than 3 goals in a game and that can even be seen in the games of their finals series. They took the series in 5 games, winning games with scores of 6-1, 6-3. 4-1 and 4-3 (OT win). The only game they lost that series was with a score of 6-5 and they still almost made that one work as it was an overtime loss. 18. Milestones thread (3 TPE) Milestones 16/16 TPE

9. What's in a Name? 2 TPE
There are alot of great names in the SHL and SMJHL. First I will start with my newest player. Rocky Gislason. I am a member of HockeyNation and Rocky Gislason is my best player and one of the best players in the game. So naturally I had to give some recognition there. Other names that I really like AT-AT Wøllker, as I am a big Star Wars fan. It is a just a great player name and a great reference. Hockey Player (Ruggsy) is for some reason another that sticks out. Such a simple name but a strong character name as well. 1. Fan Appreciation Day
The fan appreciation item that we will be giving out to our ravenous fans is a bobblehead of our beloved captain, Oliver Cornwall, which was handed out on the final game of season 79, the final game of Cornwall’s Junior career. This game is dedicated to the beloved captain, with the team performing a short ceremony at the beginning of the game recapping his career, with a video package showing highlights. In the season with not much to look forward to on the ice, it is a bittersweet moment seeing one of the final remnants of the cup winning team head on to greener pastures. (105 Words) 2. Looking towards the future The Vancouver Whalers are most certainly a team with a laundry list of problems to solve before the start of the next season. Most importantly, the team is down to a very small number of stong players, so they need to have a strong S80 draft to have any chance of improving. The forward core only has about half the players, so forwards are gonna be a focus for this draft. The defense core is nonexistent, so they are going to be looking for multiple new defense rookies to help fill in the gaps in the roster. The only stable position this offseason is goaltending, with Trent Mackenzie returning next season to keep the net. They may look to find a suitable backup for Trent, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it. (133 Words) 4. Funtimes It is no secret that the Vancouver Whalers’ entire team is in need of a bit of fun to help dispel the pent up anger and frustration from season 79. As the newly designated Vancouver Whalers Fun Director, Trent Mackenzie went to work making sure that every single member of the team had as much fun as possible. First, he made sure to purchase each player tickets to see their favorite musician (funny enough, a large number of the team all went to see the same KPOP artist, weird coincidence but surely it doesn’t mean anything). Trent also made sure to go out and prepare the favorite foods of everyone on the team, to help calm the hungry appetites of the burnt out teammates. He performed multiple self-written songs, written about the team as well as his own personal experiences on the path to becoming a Vancouver Whaler. After that, the entire Whalers team went out for drinks, as well as for a walk around town to go have some fun in the offseason. They even ran into a few fans, which always helps boost morale. At the end of the night, each player was sent off with a handwritten note thanking them for their additions to the team, and it included an extra note at the bottom, to encourage each player to vouch for him to become captain in the next season ;) (233 Words) 12. On the Radar Trent Mackenzie has lots to offer for any team looking for an upgrade in their goaltending department. Given the piss poor defense shown by the Whalers this season, there is a lot to go off of for their performance when there is a true team infront of em. Leading the league in saves, Trent knows how to stop the puck over and over again, facing nearly 60 shots per game. Trent also had a very strong shootout record, going almost undefeated in the shootout last season. Any team looking to boost their team goaltending for the seasons to come should be very excited for Trent’s skillset. (103 Words) 14. R&R It came as a surprise to nobody that the Vancouver Whalers were knocked out of the playoffs in a swift 4 game sweep at the hands of the Quebec City Citadelles. While it was certainly upsetting to lose in such a fashion, it was completely expected by basically anyone who watched their on ice product this season. To help relax and recuperate from the stress of the season, Trent Mackenzie rented a cabin out on the coast to live alone for a month. He used this time to play guitar, which he writes songs with as well as uses as a way to just calm his nerves. He surfed in the ocean, helping maintain balance and reflexes in a much more relaxing situation. He spent lots of time sleeping or lounging to give his muscles a break while not doing other exercise. Trent returned from this short vacation very well rested and prepared to put up record numbers in the next season! (162 Words) 18. 1. The Kelowna Knights have decided to hold a fan appreciation day. There is a program for all ages. A commemorative item from the event will be distributed to fans on the main stage. The object is a medieval knight about 20 centimeters tall. The knight is a description of medieval tournament knights who wore full battle gear when they fought each other and showed off their skills to strangers. The knight's chest has the Kelowna Knights logo and the knight's equipment is in Knights colors. Fans are eagerly accepting the item. The event will take place at the Kelowna Knights home game against the Detroit Falcons.
Word: 106 4. Levi has been chosen in honor of the Fun Directors team's free weekend. He has decided to surprise his teammates and hold a program that includes action and relaxation. The first thing to do is paintball. Here we get the group moving and have fun together, which also deepens cooperation between friends. The team's management has also been invited to the event, in order to get the whole team there and grind together. When the battle is over, Levi has reserved a sauna and massages for the team. The purpose of this is to get the group to relax and experience new things if, for example, the sauna is not already familiar. The purpose of the massage is to relax and prevent muscle injuries, which possible paintball could have done. And to ensure that everyone is ready for their team's normal training. The evening culminates in a restaurant evening where the Menu is freely selectable. And because certain traditions are followed, this is the so-called Rookie dinner. So the rookies pay the final bill together. Word: 175 12. Power forward by the grace of God. In this story we look at Levi Bedrock. Levi, who has Japanese citizenship, has grown up well as a young player. At his age, he has aimed for the moment when he can play in the SHL and the first step has naturally been to get drafted SMJHL. His strengths are Screening, Strength and stamina. When you add to these skills the ability to find open spaces and puck handling, he will certainly be difficult for opposing defenders to contain in front of the goal. However, there are also weaknesses. Shooting range and Offensive Read. But let's take into account that this is still a young player who will improve as he gets older. He got a pick in the third round and the pick was the Kelowna Knights. Levi is classified as a somewhat risky reservation because it is not known how he will cope. According to his own words and goals, his motivation is high and he intends to show why he should have been taken and with an earlier reservation. Word: 180 14. The beginning of the offseason is spent recovering from the previous season. This includes spending time with family. Another favorite hobby is also strongly represented. Levi goes to Alaska to fish. Fishing has always been his way to relax and clear his mind. It is good for people to be in nature. After returning to education, Levi spends some more time with his family before starting preparations for the next season and the SHL draft. Summer training includes strength exercises, skating and technique exercises. Perhaps the biggest surprise in training is that you also participate in the training of figure skaters. This improves his skate and blade usage. The purpose is also to give agility to a large body. Strength exercises are gym exercises where the goal is to seek both raw strength and explosiveness, which is useful in duels and endurance. Technique exercises include perfecting the details. For example, the shot and its accuracy, passing and the most important feature of a power forward, i.e. screening. And you shouldn't forget the mental side either. For Levi, it is very important that the mind is also completely healthy and clear. This helps focus on what's most important and keeps him together. Word: 201 15. Charity is very important to Levi because his parents come from poor and difficult circumstances. Levi has decided to participate in a charity event that collects money and grants for the Children's Clinic. He acts as one of the event's speakers and tells his own starting point, how he got to this point, that he can realize his dreams. In his opinion, everyone deserves a chance to realize their dreams. The event is a success and the Children's Hospital receives large donations in both money and equipment. Levi himself donates money to the target so that they can get what they need. He also goes around meeting children and telling them about his career so far. He also takes pictures with them and signs autographs. He also gives away a few tickets to kids to see a Kelowna Knights home game of their choice. The event culminates in a Levi's jersey auction, with the proceeds going to the Children's Hospital. Looking Towards the Future (555 words - 11 TPE) Looking back at the Vancouver Whalers’ season 79 I think it’s fair to say that there are quite a few holes that need to be filled this coming season. When you look at who’s leaving us as well, it’s somewhat of a bleak picture. Ville Sato-Maki, Levon Dojkic, Dominic Enselmo, Trevor Lopez, David Vent, and Oliver Cornwall are all moving on. That’s six of our top ten scorers last season, which includes our top two centers, top two right wingers, and top D-pairing, all leaving the team. For a club that struggled to win 10 games last season that’s not a good sign. Luckily we can expect improvement from within to fill some of those holes in the roster. Left-winger Aaron Noxu had a phenomenal rookie season, scoring a team-high 34 goals. If he can continue to grow as a player and seize some of the increased opportunity he’ll see with so many top scorers leaving he could have a truly explosive year. On the defensive side, I think Hans Gronlund and I have had a phenomenal offseason. Our chemistry as D partners is at an all time high, and with it out skills have developed tremendously also. I'm feeling more confident on the puck than ever before, my shot feels better than ever before, and I really believe that I can step into that number one right handed defenseman role and help provide some stability to our blue line. Gronlund has put in almost more work than I have and I'm really excited to see how it turns out this season. You can feel the air of confidence he has around him. When the puck is on his stick there's no panic about what he's going to do anymore, he's just quietly making the right plays all the time. That's going to be a huge boost for us and it frees me up to be a little more aggressive on the offensive side of the ice. Of course, we're not weak everywhere. Our one true strength is our starting goaltender Trent Mackenzie. While they may have been let down horrendously by the team last year, and let's face it we're almost certainly not going to be putting them in a great position this year either, there's something comforting about knowing you have a good goaltender that's able to keep a level head and make plays even when being peppered with 50+ shots a night, every night. They're also a vital locker room presence that is going to be essential for keeping morale high in what projects to be a long season. We've also got some really promising rookies that we got through the latest SMJHL draft that I'm very excited for. It's going to be a little rough for them at the start just due to the nature of where the team is at right now. They're going to end up getting thrown out of the front pan and right into the fire very quickly, but at the same time it comes with essentially no expectations whatsoever. Lots of ice time with no pressure for immediate results is a great formula for exponential development. I know everyone else in our locker room is going to do everything they can to help mentor the new rookies and keep them on the right track as well. 3. Secret Plans (128 words - 2 TPE) I've never really been one for underhanded tricks whether that be straight up cheating or even sliding into the grey areas a little bit. But I do have one "dirty" trick up my sleeve for us this season and it's something of a classic. We're not going to wash our jerseys once this season. It's going to be rough at first I won't lie, but we'll get nose blind to it pretty quickly I think, and it'll make it absolutely miserable for our opponents to play against. Imagine getting hit by a Whaler. You're not just taking a hit you're being enveloped in dozens of games of stink. Want to win a faceoff? Good luck doing it while holding your breath. Now that's what I call playing dirty.

Its playoffs against the Main Timber, high intensity, the raptors are home for a crucial game 6 that they need to win to force a Game 6. Tiny Princess has been asked to design something to help turn the tides and crack down the Timber. After thinking all night, Tiny Princess came up with the idea of handing huge, and I mean 1:1 sizing, Tiny Princess cardboard cutouts. After seeing this the Timber couldn't handle the pressure. So much Tiny Princess, and not enough players that could handle it. As Timber players were getting ready to shoot at the net they looked up and just saw a sea of Tiny Princesses and they just froze up, inevitably getting the puck taken away from them. The pure sight of Tiny Princess puts horror into anyone's hearts, so a sea of him must amplify it. As you could tell by a game 7 win, this trauma carried over. 3- 150 words (3tpe) Its no secret that Tiny Princess has a training regiment. This season he is going to be leading all of the dmen in it. Starting with a retreat to Latvia, the Raptor’s dmen will be training with the bears, learning the art of strength and how to focus it on the ice. After an initial training with the bears Princess will take the dmen to a snow retreat atop the Rockies and then on an intense training regiment where they train 23 hours a day for a month straight. Starting in the morning with a good balanced meal, then hitting the weight room and warming up with a few tons whilst watching film. They then put on heavily weighted gear to train their reflexes and hop on the ice as they scrim the prime Edmonton Oilers and the 1992 USA Olympic Basketball “dream team”. This is just a taste at a look behind the training regiment. 13 - 150 words (3tpe) Not only is it a playoff superstition, but this is a superstition that Tiny Princess does for the entire season, Tiny Princess must pull up to each game in a very bright pink bunny rabbit full body suit. Although this might seem weird, It helps Tiny Princess get out of his comfort space and dial in for the game. Whenever he shows up to the rink on game day looking like this, when the opposing team laughs, he just locks in and becomes one with the ice. This also helps the team become less nervous because of how funny it is, and it brings the team closer together every time. With the way Tiny Princess is growing, he might need to upgrade his bunny suits pretty soon before it rips on its own. Tiny Princess also does the standard superstition of not shaving during the playoffs and grows a humongous beard. 16 - 200 Words (4tpe) I have many future goals that I would love to achieve with my time on the great Tiny Princess with the SHL before retiring (Tiny Princess at least). For Tiny Princess, I would love to collect a lot of hardware. I want to bring a four star cup to the Colorado Raptors, and then help bring a challenger cup (or like 5) to the Hamilton Steelhawks. I would love to be in the top 10 for blocked shots at the end of Tiny Princesses career (Although #1 would be nice) and also be known as one of the best dmen to grace the ice. One of the main goals I have in mind is to become a member of the 2 Thousand TPE club and join a legendary list of players then get inducted into the hall of fame. As for the site jobs, I would love to get involved in any way possible. Whether that's being an intern or maybe even being a full member of the HO / SMJHL HO committee. Somewhere down the line I think it would be a lot of fun to get involved in the management of a team and contribute to that team to bring them glory. 18 - Milestone (3tpe) |
